A point commission for *blackminorscales , progress shot It's got a lot of detailing to go.

It was originally penned - pen helps me sketch out composition, shading and detailing, for some reason a lot better than pencil or digital sketching~
Blocking colour and shades takes five minutes, refining takes about three hours, detailing takes an infinite amount of time depending on how complex the picture is~ With speedpaints I skip the detailing stage save for the necessary parts.
This has entered the detailing stage. I'm estimating another 4-6 hours wrestling with scale hints, and the rocks. :U

It's been at the top stage for a few weeks, but then I came back to it and decided it was too flat. MOAR MIST!
Originally Scales was meant to be lighter than the background, but since he's a navy blue, this would be pretty silly, so now he's dark :3
