BoCo: Ewan McGregor in the style of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars prequels)
Calm, cool, and good-natured - that's BoCo, and Ewan could easily deliver that.

Arthur: Elijah Wood in the style of Frodo Baggins (Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings)
Elijah gave Frodo a polite soft-spokenness that I can't help but envision in our LMS tank engine.

Dennis: Timothy Spall in the style of Nick (Chicken Run)
After seeing Dennis cast as another Spall role in a YouTube Thomas parody, the idea just stuck - and Nick's sly, underhanded character more than suits our lazy diesel.

The Ballast Undercutter (I call him Virgil): Rob Rackstraw in the style of Mr. Beasley (Bob the Builder)
Must be the glasses/goggles. That being said, I don't think Virgil would be quite as absentminded as Mr. Beasley...

Bloomer: Ken Stott in the style of Balin (Peter Jackson's The Hobbit)
Just remove the warmth, amp up the gruffness, and you'd have the ideal voice for Bloomer in my headcanon.

Madge: Emma Thompson in the style of Mrs. Potts (Beauty and the Beast, the live-action remake)
She is a motherly sort of character.
