This reminds me vividly of the Temeraire series of books written by Naomi Novik. XD it's about dragons! I recommend to you to read it if you haven't. :3

Ah, I've stopped reading fantasy novels a long time ago... Maybe I'll give that novel a try when I have the time

no pressure, try picking up the first book or borrowing it somehow at the library or from someone, and read it at your leisurely pace...or in the toilet? lol? haha! anyways, it's a series and the 4th book is out. I have a feeling it should have ended at book 3 but was extended due to popularity so it's still an ongoing series. if you'd like to read it when it's complete, then no rush. ^_^;; cuz naomi novik releases perhaps one book in a year.
