Description My favorite scene from my favorite movie. As the Titanic begins the final plunge, the hymn "Nearer, my god ,to thee" is played. An eery calm settles over the Titanic but it won't be there for long. When the bridge goes under, the panic will start.

Noting that this is the starboard side, I know the scene is flipped. With the exception of only one scene (right before the ship hit the iceberg), all exterior shots of the ship were of the port side. The 1953 film was entirely of the port side as well.

But did you see the 1993 documentary about the making of A Night to Remember? The true starboard side of the model is seen, and it's nothing like the port side.

I did see the documentary. I've done as much research as I can about this film.

Sadly whenever everyone thinks of titanic they think of jack and rose or the disaster as a movie. One of the biggest disasters that made evry newspaper and shocked the western world and changed ship technology forever, is now only remembered for jack and rose.

My favorite and THE BEST movie ever made about the Titanic!! I still don't understand why James Cameron had to make up two fictional characters when there were so many real ones and their stories to choose from. Nope, instead he had to make the most expensive "Chick Flick" ever made. It's still good to watch if you can overlook Jack and Rose like I do to see the set that was created.

I would have to agree that A Night To Remember is the The BEST Titanic film. Jack and Rose are very annoying when I'm trying to pay attention to the events that went on that night.

I need to watch this movie again. One of the reasons I like this movie is that it follows events and people during the last fateful night. They didn't need to throw in a silly love triangle to keep people's attention. It's just about the ship and the people on board. So sad when the ship does sink. :[

'A Night to Remember' has to be one of the most accurate and heartbreaking Titanic films I have seen, and I have seen several! What always makes me cry is the very end of the film, when the officers are on board Carpathia, and the life-ring goes floating by, saying S.S TITANIC. I bawl like a baby at that!

I was devastated when the ship went down with the small child aboard. And when the funnel collapsed on the young couple(which is also my 2nd fav. part).

In my honest opinion, "A Night to Remember" is the best and most accurate Titanic film of all time.
