Description
C&O 1308 sits quietly in a track side park at Huntington, Wv. When I entered the park, I was in awe, for there stood the biggest locomotive I've ever seen! C&O 1308 was the second to last steam locomotive built domestically by the Baldwin Locomotive works. and is the only surviving sister to C&O1309 (which is being restored by the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad . Anyway as soon as we came in the park a man came up to us and greeted us with a handshake and a warm smile. When we started the tour a man showed us through the SD-50 cab that CSX donated. Than another man showed us around an old C&O Caboose, which was in very good shape. Oncewe exited the caboose, another man, asked us what we wanted to know about the engine (my father misinterpreted what he said and said "Everything") so we got a GRAND TOUR of the engine. I learned a lot( and I know a lot about steam locomotives). I thoroughly enjoyed the full tour.Related content
