Description
The Norfolk and Western Railroad was famous for having the biggest and the best in respects to steam locomotives. Here, we see the queens of their fleet at the VMT.From left to right: N&W 1218, N&W 611 and N&W 2156
At a spur of the moment decision, I got to go to the VMT on my vacation. They have quite a collection!

The west has it's own "big three" if you think about, UP's 844, 3985, and 4014. However, I take interest in visiting the east just to see the Roanoke Big Three.

In case anyone's wondering why 611's back in the museum, it's because her maintenance shop doesn't exist yet, so for the moment, it's the only home base she's got.

It's nice to see 'The Big Three' next to each other again until next year.

Is that where they store 611 when she's not running?

Yes, but they are planning on constructing a new, better engine shed for her.
