*sigh* I have to ask. Why the top design? It's the same rediculous concept the BR class 58 and 70. Why do you have a walkway if you have a cab at both ENDS?

I think it looks cool.
A walkway if I have a cab at both ends? Well, let's say you finish the days run. Rather than turn the engine or run it in reverse, just switch cabs! And sure the engineer could jump off and walk back on the ground, but what if there isn't much clearance, or you're parked on a bridge

I wouldn't mind that so much if cowl units didn't exist. They're basically good units with casing. If you're changing cabs, you could walk in a covered space and you shouldn't have to worry about going deaf form the engine too much if it's on standby. Also, the way I see it, walkways are mainly to increase visibility. You can't do that if there's another full width cab in the way!
To be fair, I've seen a few designs that don't have a full-width can specifically for that reason, but designs like the ones I mentioned earlier just bug me.

I would have to say it's the favorite of my diesel-electric creations so far.

Hehe someone has been busy, the bottom one reminds a bit of the commonwealth railways CL class except withΒ a SD40 body behind it of a E unit crossed with a SD40
