Description Yep, just some more screenshots with silly dialogue. I know, I know. Well at least I amuse myself.

Why Dean would EVER ask that, I don't know, but the idea popped into my head and wouldn't go away. Also, Cas in that last frame is basically like "That bitch hung up on me!"

Dean: WHAT, Cas, WHAT are you wearing, not WHOM!

Castiel: My vessel is wearing what Jimmy was wearing.  You know this.

Dean (facepalming): Damnit, Cas, when somebody asks what you're wearing, you tell them about your underwear!

Castiel: That does not make sense, and it does not fully answer the question.

Dean (through gritted teeth): Okay, okay, just work with me here... Hey, Cas, what's Jimmy wearing?

Castiel: One moment please...  Jimmy is wearing Calvin.  Presumably this means I am wearing Calvin too, although I have not been introduced to him.

Dean: I give up.

Yeah, he didn't get dealt a very good hand. I mean I love Cas, I think he adds an important element to the show, but his vessel got a raw deal. And I can't imagine what his family was thinking when God!Cas started smiting people left and right.

that would be super disturbing if your husband was going on a rampage...

I can only imagine what it's like to be meg's 'actress from Cheboygan' considering the grinder she gets put through...

enginesummer In reply to VIIStar [2013-08-21 07:02:27 +0000 UTC]

Oh, Meg. I'm actually really upset about what happened with her, especially considering what they found out at the end of season 8 about possibilities surrounding cleansing demons.

Her character's changed so much over the seasons, and there seemed like there was still more to explore. I mean, to date, she seemed to have been the only semi-trustworthy demon they've come across. Also, I really liked her relationship with Cas, and how they interacted with each other. It felt genuine.

...Okay, so I totally shipped Meg/Cas. They can still bring her back, right?

It's Supernatural! They can bring her back!...Right?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VIIStar In reply to enginesummer [2013-08-21 09:37:41 +0000 UTC]

right - i was discussing it with a friend that meg should have been the one healed, not crowley...  ;n;  that would have been a fascinating decision for her to make to be a human again.

I liked some of the Meg/Cas interactions, they're fun and done well by good actors, but I can't ship them.  He was the one that brought her back to the Winchesters (to get to his BF dean e_e) and is why Crowley got his hands on her after the SucroCorp incident.  He didn't look for her when Crowley was torturing her then leaves her to be killed in lieu of getting the angel tablet.  Seeing her on that dirty bathroom floor made me ill and really mad at Cas; it was his fault and if there was one person who could have done something it was him.

I like her more for herself and how her character changed as opposed to being an item.

If they don't bring her back with Rachel Miner, then they shouldn't bother. ;n;

but if they being bobby and gabe back, why the heck not?

enginesummer In reply to VIIStar [2013-08-21 19:23:19 +0000 UTC]

Well hey now, Cas was pretty much under heaven's thumb from the minute he got back from Purgatory. Based on his interaction with Naomi, even if he HAD gone looking for her, Naomi might've had him smite her on principle. He had no real way of knowing Crowley was going to kill her, either, since she's such a tough chick. And unfortunately, Cas seems to have a problem remembering to check in on anyone but the Winchesters.

I like her for her own sake, too, once she stopped being so single-minded in the "kill Winchesters" department. Even from the beginning she proved that she was smarter than most demons, though, and capable of some diabolical schemes. I'm just sayin' I think she shone her best when she was with Cas. They have a lot of similar themes, a beautiful rapport, and I think by the end they had a real friendship.

And yeah, bring her back as that actress or not at all. I have this tiny little hope that her last act could have been considered self-sacrifice and she was somehow redeemed and sent to heaven or something, but that's probably not what actually happened. Yeah, I don't know where the dead angels and demons go...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VIIStar In reply to enginesummer [2013-08-21 21:19:42 +0000 UTC]

in the end she was just another demon, she died and was never spoken of again.  I can see his fascination with 'the demon that's not all bad' but in the end he only really cared for the Winchesters.  in the end i thought they were funny but shallow and i just wanted him to leave her alone :c

I don't think Naomi was that short sighted, Meg did know where the angel tablet was - and that knowledge was the only thing keeping her alive.

yeah, once Meg was on her own and not working toward someone else's goals (Lucifer, Azazel, or Alistair) and running from Crowley she really learned and developed as a character.  i won't say she's all flowers and bunnies, but that's what makes her interesting.  shippers tend to sanitize her and her motivations too much, to the point of just being a brainless love interest.

OMG, me too!  I kind of hoped she went to heaven and got a chance to relax a little ^u^  i wonder what her heaven would be like?

i thought they could go back to hell or purgatory, but if they flash (like meg did) they were dead (nonexistence?).  We'll see :/  the writers like to change the rules as they see fit.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

enginesummer In reply to VIIStar [2013-08-22 01:36:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'm not sure the writers completely thought through where the "dead" angels and demons go. Maybe Limbo? Ugh, we'll see.

Mm, although I guess I'm a shipper, I'm not going to say Meg was without her petty and selfish motivations. I just think that her continual interactions with TFW let her explore other possibilities, as 3-dimensional characters tend to do.

Her heaven? I don't know; we weren't given much information on what she was like when she was alive. I mean I know Ruby was a witch (and a bitch--that never changed), but I don't know about Meg. Or even what her real name was, come to think of it. Meg was the name of the first meatsuit, wasn't it? Maybe she was ashamed. It seems like most the demons don't want to remember ANYTHING of their human lives. It probably hurts to, after all the torture that twists them into being demons. A lot of unanswered questions. Sigh.

VIIStar In reply to enginesummer [2013-08-22 23:33:47 +0000 UTC]

that we will ^^

hm I guess i think of it more as her being alone for the first time that makes her start changing - she worked for important people in hell and once they were all killed or removed she had to look after herself.  She already had started that process when she teamed up with them to find crowley (when they were trying to get sam's soul back)  and continued on when she helped dean out in the quicky mart.  she's only been in 7 eps (miner at least meg v1 is too different imho) so her time without the brothers is greater than her time with them.

That's not to say they didn't have an effect, but to spite her trying to build some trust (standing in a devil's trap and giving dean back his knife, watching cas, etc) in the end she is discarded as just another demon.  Sam's reaction to her lying to crowley to get him to stop torturing her kind of puts the stamp on that (it's not like they were looking to help her out anyway).

They have reasons to dislike her, she's done bad things, but so have they - it's not like they're pure and innocent cherubs XD;;;

she was def taken way too soon.  but then again, anything that competes with Team Co-Dependent tends to die.  It looks bad for them that a side character has developed and grown while they still revert to old arguments.  For as little as she's seen she's really well written and def under used.  ^^

enginesummer In reply to VIIStar [2013-08-23 00:40:09 +0000 UTC]

I guess I can agree with most of that. What I found most interesting was the fact that she really didn't abuse the position of power she adopted over Cas while he was nuts. When the boys just LEFT him there and we saw her going in as a "nurse," I figured she was just going to manipulate him like everyone else did (the boys included). The fact that she didn't take advantage of him as a caregiver was a pleasant surprise. I know she's a demon and she's done some very bad things, but this just seemed like a real example of the potential to change.

Yeah, the writers do have a problem of killing off strong female characters. Or... um, most female characters, actually. They also seem to fall into the Madonna/Whore complex very easily. The few that break the mold (Mary Winchester, Meg, Jo, Ellen, Pamela) all die sacrificing themselves for those freaking boys. You could argue that Anna broke the mold, too, and didn't sacrifice herself... but, well, she's still dead. I'm hoping Charlie won't fall into that pattern (she has her own cliche issues, but she's still all right) partially because there's no possibility of romantic overtones.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VIIStar In reply to enginesummer [2013-08-23 06:04:26 +0000 UTC]

Hm, I don't think that she didn't manipulate him, even if it was only subtle.  Meg did threaten Sam that she was going to take 'her' angel and go.  Sam had to acquiesce  because he believed cas would follow her because she did stay with him when they left. (thorny beauty blah blah) I don't doubt that goofy crazy cas didn't win her over, partly because he didn't judge her, wasn't using her, and needed her help in a genuine way.  She also got a chance to 'settle down' not have to fight for her life, be tortured, read her celeb rag magazines (lol 'bio').  I don't think the friendship is what she anticipated.

In the quik-e-mart she lays out what she wants, which is protection in numbers, though in a pinch she'd take cas alone which is why she tells him that he's an angel.  The friendship with crazy cas is incidental and mostly because he was crazy - I don't think that friendship would have been made if he was good noodle cas.

They do protect each other, Cas sends crowley away and meg kills the two demons and hester, but it can't be left out that once cas is cured by the angel tablet he does abandon her after healing dean and that's when she is beaten and killed.  It couldn't have been impossible for him to have helped them all, or later (since he already showed he could find meg whenever he wanted) he doesn't seem to notice she's gone.   For all the cutsey stuff i can't get that out of my head.

but i'm glad her wrists were nice and bandaged.  too bad he forgot about the knife in her chest... e_e

yeah, spn is a sausage fest XD

charlie is relatively safe, not only is she a lesbian, but she's the 'little sister'.  her sacrifice was a broken arm.  i can't say i really liked her, but i do wish her the best ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

enginesummer In reply to VIIStar [2013-08-23 07:26:25 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I figured that was mostly talk. Cas would still choose the Winchesters over Meg. He did. On multiple occasions. I just didn't read the manipulation there. In fact she seemed a little off-put by the friendship he offered.

I don't know, the inconsistencies in their relationship might just be due to different writers or for dramatic tension or story-lines or whatnot. I mean when Can took off with the tablet, he didn't even make sure the boys wouldn't get killed by Crowley; he just split. He was only just barely in possession of himself, and probably knew Naomi was coming (as she immediately did). Meg just... wasn't on his radar for vulnerable.

Whatever, I still think they're adorable together, even if it only ever had stayed as (somewhat one-sided) flirting.

VIIStar In reply to enginesummer [2013-08-23 08:16:50 +0000 UTC]

i'm sure cas wouldn't have let the winchesters die, had they been in any real danger.

i think she was more put off that she expected a full throttle angel and got stuck with a guy obsessed with bees XD
