A well composed portrait of a character soon to become a part of the popular culture. The "Broadsword" seems archaic to me but at least it will protect him from the scourge and curse of the "Jedi" and "Sith"; that being having your hand(s) cut off.
I will take a Liberty here and indulge myself by making this proclamation: The TRUE nature of the FORCE is that it is EVIL. (All Life exists as the direct or indirect result of Death. As in Dark and/or Light; one cannot exist without the other.) The concept of a Dark or Light side is only a matter of perception and this reflects the Ultimate Fate of the Galaxy. That being: Endless turmoil until entropy takes over completely. What is this if not "Evil"...?   I welcome comments...
Best regards,
R.K.

Thank you for your comment!
I wouldn't affirm that the force is evil, most likely it's neutral... like science (in the real world) or magic (in fiction). Imho the force is intended as a natural thing, it isn't aware about the distinction between good and evil.

Perhaps I go too far...   Perhaps not. However, any dynamic system (such as the "Force") could hardly be considered neutral. If we Posit that the Force is an aspect of Life, then it is by wrote; a dynamic system. I think we need to define Evil more strictly and correctly. In regard to "Star Wars", it may suffice to simply determine what it is that a "Jedi" does that a "Sith" does not. They seem the same to me in regard to their actions. That makes them both "Dark" or "Evil" in this sense. That is; there is no equality in the distribution of who is "Strong-in-the-Force" or not. Unjustified inequality is by definition an Evil thing, is it not?
Best regards,
R.K.

If everyone could use the Force like a Jedi does, it would be a complete mess! So, maybe, this "unjustified inequality" you're talking about, it's not evil, isn't it?

To assume that an equal distribution of the "Force" would result in "... a complete mess!" is an opinion too subjective for me to address in any meaningful way. Clearly I have adopted a perspective that is as unique as it is peculiar, and my scope of how the concept of the "Force" overlaps with the realities of life is too broad. I was actually trying to bring to bear how an extremely popular "Myth" can distort cultural norms. NO media could exercise this power to greater effect than Cinema. Whether destruction on the grand scale is for the purposes of tyranny (the Dark or Sith aspect) or in retaliation against tyranny (the Light or Jedi aspect) is ultimately irrelevant. When an entire Forest or City is laid to waste who was in the Right or Wrong no longer matters. The very existence (inherent to the "Force") of "Dark" and "Light" Powers lead to conflict and needless destruction (waste). I hold it out as self-evident that pointless waste is Evil on the face of it. Yet this dichotomy seems to be intrinsic to the structure of the Minds of People and surely nothing can be done for it short of a complete and revolutionary re-structuring of the Human character. Is it extremely unlikely that People will endeavor to truly discover why they are the way they are anytime soon. Therefore; meaningful change (growth and/or adaptation) in People will not occur unless thrust upon them. This kind of behavior will ultimately prove hugely self-destructive. Here again we find needless waste (especially of Time, the most precious of ALL commodities) and again we find...   Evil. Where is the Good? I feel that this discussion may get "out-of-hand" (my fault, since I initialized it) so let us just retire to our respective "corners". In any event, I rest my case.
Very best regards,
R.K.
