Set in 2120, the world has undergone several global power shifts, the rise and stagnation of megacity urban domination, the shift from traditional farming to AGHfarms(Automated Green House farms), the rise of AI and the subsequent rise of S1, not to mention the recent emergence of S2... Now, thanks to their technological innovations and their willing to adapt to the new world, India and Japan stand as the soler hyperpower on Earth.

On a physical level, people have changed in the last century, augmenting their bodies, minds, and genetic code with mechanical, digital, and biological (in that order) modifications. Extreme bodymodding, things like extra limbs and senses, are especially common within non-web proffessions. People such as travelling buisnessman moving between the Megacities will adopt more mechanichal mods than the average person. Just as an Amazonian Edenist will adopt almost exclusively gene-biomods. There are a certain set of mods everyone in modern society has. Strengthened muscle, durable skin, blood loss reduction, organ efficiency, neural expansions, and prolonged life.
Living for, theoreticaly, forever has led to a very personal, yet global, shift in thought. People used to settle for comfortable enough lives, even uncomfortable ones if they were happy. Now though, the lure of post-scarcity fully automated mansions far away from the dense living of the megacities has trapped the middle class in a life of labor. Almost everyone above the age of 20 could live a life of comfort, working very little and living in homes sizeable enough for a small family. In the 2070s this was exactly the case, but the rise in personal freedom led to an increase in political engagement and a whole new era of social movements was born, threatening the upper class and elite of the world. Governments worked with private companies to memetically engineer a social environment that shamed post-scarcity lifestyles, framing them as wasteful and excessive. Rise in computer tech allowed the creation of memetic agents to prolifiate throughout the web. This propaganda can only work for so long however. For decades, workers have been putting off having kids, working in tighter and tighter conditions to earn their place in post-scarcity luxury. Constantly drunk (through artifial means, happy minds and happy livers!) and constantly laboring in almost meaningless jobs, raising a family became one of the only ways people could find happiness, despite the pressure to wait till luxury. A new population growith is placing strain on an unaging population. As a new generation of lower class workers question the neccesity of their parents work social unrest is growing. Pushback exists as well as a growing conservativism amongst the upper class, including S1 postturings, cracks down on the "Neopunk" movement.

In the 2050's, at the height of the Climate Crisis, tens of thousands of the rich fled for space, settling amongst the Moon, Mars, and the Belt. In previosally established colonies and stations they were seen as little more than outsiders with mouths to feed, only useful for the funding they brought. Many habitats across the Belt and Mars, however, were more welcoming to them, and here theyre descendants still hold influence through their generational wealth. In the depths of ships and stations, mines and cities, a new generation of lower class Spacers are leading a new wave of Spacer nationalism and anti-Earth sentiment. Relations between many colonies with the UN have suffered due to it, as the UN funds colonization movements increasing Earther population in Space. Even in Cis-Lunar space, a place almost exclusively built and populated by Earthers, a rising need for hard labor has attracted Spacer immigrants. Ethno-classist strife between the two groups is quickly destablizing the region.
