Description
This is my contest entry for *Z1ven 's contest, where we had to draw our character with two characters from two separate movies! I chose Bambi, he's a little grown up in this one and Meeko, from Pocahontas! These guys were pretty tricky to draw, refs being scarce and all! But it was a lot of fun to draw, I really did enjoy it, even toning those presents, each and every one of them! I thought I'd put a story behind it, so that it makes sense...

Trav ran as fast as she could into the dark woods, the scary sounds behind her fading slowly to soft mumbles in the night. But she continued to run, the forest carrying her legs faster and faster along the mossy ground and past the tall, ancient trees. Suddenly she slammed into something quite solid, something poking her back and she did a bizarre spin in the air as she flew over the object she had hit. A sudden movement behind her caused her to leap to her legs. Behind her, a tall graceful stag stood up, looking rather confused.
"Don't you look where you're going when you run?" the stag asked, raising a distinctively unimpressed eyebrow. Trav shuffed back, a sheepish look crossing her face.
"Sorry, I got a little carried away. I thought something was chasing me," Trav excused. "Sorry about that, I really didn't mean to. I'll just.... be off." She turned to go, but suddenly the stag was in front of her.
"I heard something too!" he exclaimed. His eyes has a hidden sense of fear in them, and his ears flicked madly around.
"Don't you want me to come with you? I have uh,..." he tossed his head up and down, his antlers wobbling slightly. Trav looked, and figured some backup would be nice.
"Sure thing, why not." Trav agreed, and stepped forward.

Once morning while taking a drink at a lake, a sudden squeal from a bush startled the stag and mare. Bambi, the stag, walked forward to the bush, which now appeared to be shaking slightly.
"Hello...?" Trav called out, but no response came. Suddenly, without warning, a grey and black furball came flying from the bush and pelted itself towards Bambi's antlers. Suddenly, a face appeared from the furball, looked at Trav, and fell limply to the ground. Trav nuzzled the grey thing, which moved slowly until it looked up at Trav again.
"Hi, I'm Trav, and this is Bambi. We're not here to hurt you." Trav introduced, the grey furball stared from Trav to Bambi.
"I.... I...... I'm Meeko" it said. Trav realised it - Meeko - was a raccoon.

After a calm introduction, the trio set off towards to snowy areas of the mountains. Suddenly, coming over a slope, a tall pile of shiny gifts sat in the snow. They walked cautiously towards it. Trav eyed the presents, Meeko was positively ecstatic and Bambi was intrigued.

"Christmas in April?..."
