Description
You know, I got extremely tired of watching all those "Twilight Saga" screaming fangirls. No offence, but I don't find the idea of sugar-sweet-sparkly-vampire appealing, thank you very much.Vampire is supposed to be bloody and carnivorous.
All the romance in its image is mostly suicidal and decadent. Trust my word, I made several researches in those myths; the first actually APPEALING vampire appears only in "Die Braut von Korinth (The Bride of Korinth)" by Johann Wolfgang von GΓΆthe in 1797. Then it comes out in J.W. Polidori's work, then Byron, then Stoker... the earlier vampires with mythological origin are just sucking your blood. NO ROMANCE, HUNGER ONLY.
I made some sketches on the theme during the working day in my office. You get some myths, mix them with modern times, add some black & red indian ink to taste...
...et voila.
Here she is.
Hope you like these lines.))
P.S.:
Aye, my swirly-thingie-style again.
I feel lack of time for painting these days, but you have my promise: I've got at least two large sketches to finish (first in acrylic, second in watercolour), so the next work won't be so... subtle.))

Though I'm kinda of ""Twilight Saga" screaming fangirl", I like this one VERY much ))
Reminds me of some mixture between Malcawian and Toreador, don't know why )
Or maybe it's just my recent Victorian Era experiences ))

I thought of painting something like Nagaraja bloodline... so you kinda guessed my source of inspiration.)))

Mmmm, Nagajara are cool But I always imagined them as more creepy and... weird. Flesh eating is like unconscionable, to my mind
Though I've seen even worse legends...

Amen to that. I finally conceited and am reading the first book... not only is the writing very shallow but he spends the whole book going between massively frustrated to overly polite and then back again.... the biggest question though for me at least is what the hell sort of vampire wants to hang out in high school when they are 100+ years old....

Oh Lord, not these books, please! They are okay as some teenage angsty fanfiction, but as some Literature... sorry, not my type.)))

The one, who's hungry, imo.)))
School girls sound like tasty XDD
...which reminds me one of the "Doctor Who" episodes, when a predatory alien, who was pretending himself to be a school headmaster, made a thoughtful remark on one of the pupils: "Oh, you poor THIN child..."

Yeah but these vampires "swore off human" so they are just there.. surrounding themselves and trying to "fit in" it's so pointless. And LOL I remember that one!

I wish I knew as much about Vampires as you because then I could make a case like you did. Awesome work, love the lines.

Thank you so much!))
I'd love to share my research, if only I could adopt it to English... the fact is that the whole vamp-myths history is very rich, so it was fun to study.)))
