Description
i yell at the clouds between sunrise dreamstheir whispy constellations forming unresolved patterns
that hide and wink with conspiracy
"the devil is in the details"
she said,
but her voice is more whisper than sound
and I wonder if she was ever really here
i climb into bed and close the sheets behind me
to lock away the day
hiding my fears behind the substance of sleep and repetition
"identity is not who you are"
she said,
"but what you do"
and her voice is more thought than whisper
and I wonder if she was ever more than me

I have been toying with the idea of going gluten free a little. I dont have any allergy or anything, but I have been reading up on it and it seems like an ok diet thing.

Yeah, I'm feeling better now that I'm "off wheat" (and corn, corn has a TON of gluten in it). I'm pretty much on the "Paleo diet" but there's a lot of fruits and veg that are off my "okay to eat" list, which sucks. Pretty much, I get raw meat and overcooked greens. I would say its no way to live, but, food and I have a long history of: I hate you, no, I hate you more" relationship. Left to my own devices, I'd prolly give it up all together and live on meal replacement shakes.

I have a friend who only recently discovered his wheat/yeast allergy. For many, many years he thought he had "allergies" and was constantly popping Sudafed. It kicked his ass too when he had a small heart attack at 45. Attributed it to the lengthy use of the Sudafed.
So why not just switch to shakes?

Oh, yeah, I've digestive issues my whole life! I didn't even know that I was supposed to have a BM daily until I was in jr high and was watching Bill Nye! I was like: What? People do that EVERY DAY! Gross! lol I've tried going to the GI specialist twice, they are no help. They're so "busy" they don't bother to listen, gods I HATE that! I'm fairly certain I've got a narrowing in my small intestine on the left side, but you know, they HATE when you self-diagnose... arrogant bastards... I'm like: hey, it's my body, I'm with it 24/7 I think I know how it feels! Jerks... Fortunately, my regular physician is totally cool. Anyway, I'm rambling, I'll let you go. lol
Yeah... the roomie won't "let" me... she says it's "unhealthy," and I'm like: so is me punching you in the face! lol I do like my steaks though. Just put that under the heat lamp for a minute, and I'm good!

I would go the heat lamp route if I didnt like having that fire seared, delicious crust on top of the oh, so awesome rare center.
My nephew had that same bm problem in high school. He may have it still, I dont know, but back then he would ask how often people go? In some cases he would only go like twice a week. I told him that I didnt think that was normal but what do I know. Go see a doctor. He felt funny talking to his Dad about it.

Oh yes! I have a wroght-iron pan just for that purpose! I'm not "supposed" to eat caramelized meat though. *raspberries* Lightly steamed, that's what I get. Do you even knoooooow how gummy steamed meat is? It's gross.... Food is a real chore for me lately, and honestly, I'd rather just give it up altogether. OMG, Shanon made pizza the other day, and the yeast smelled sooooo goooood, and I'm like: really, you're just going to sit there and eat that in front of me...?
Aww, it's good you were there for him though. I was lucky if I went once a week!

My apologies for unintentionally making your mouth water, then.
Gummy steaks? Um. No thanks.
I still him often but he is married now with a new baby. His biological functions he can discuss with his wife now, lol.

Ah, sushi. A delicacy I enjoy on occasion. Very few and far between occasions. Of course, Saki helps.

It's one of the few things I can eat of late, so it's been on the menu more often. There's a place down the street that's a buck fifty a plate, and the super-grocery makes it fresh all day, so that's awesome. I love Sake, but I have to drive *raspberries*

First time I had sake, it was warm and reminded me of drinking saliva.
Second experience was amazing. Kind of like a dry wine but with a vodka bite.

Yeah, sake is always served warm. It's weird at first. Like drinking in the UK, everything is served warm.

Oh, not always. I had some recently which was chilled. Excellent. Not to mention the luke warm sake that was used for cooking during a recent trip to the japanese steak house that was also squirted into various patrons mouths from about three feet away!

A thought-filled poem that makes me think. Even without the title, I'd figure out what you're writing about, I believe. You have good descriptions of "her" and yourself (or just you?) - i climb into bed and close the sheets behind me/to lock away the day - that's one example. And - unresolved patterns/that hide and wink with conspiracy - well, pretty soon I'll quote your own poem back to you. Lately I've been unable to think of a subject to write about that really grabs me, but maybe I, too, should write about that. You know what I mean? The last part in quotes is most interesting, and the last line, too. A fave to keep thinking about for a long time.

I am glad you enjoyed it. I wrote this a few months back intending to return to finish it much sooner than I did. Coming back to it finally, I realized there wasnt much else that needed finishing, although I did try to add another verse or two.
