A shot I took in the cemetary. I tried one with a blur up front and one farther back, and went with one farther back, thinking it worked with the words as they sort of "[fled] away" in the blur.Related content

I love this photo! Your selection of subject ("The Shadows Flee") is both interesting and clever, but what I like best is how you tuned the depth of field to the text...truly an inspiration! The barrel distortion around the stone gives it character and a further sense of the subject.
You have both an eye for composition, an interesting photo, producing more than aesthetics and involving the viewer in the creation and vision. Truly talented!

this is a beautiful shot, captured at a perfect angle. the level of detail that you have captured is amazing. i love the perspective that you chose and this might very well be one of the best photographs i have ever seen here at deviantart. contrary to popular opinion i think that the blur is gorgeous where it is.

Very nice. Like the angle, gives it more depth. Landscape photos to me have a tendacy to become flat when shot from straight on. Overall a wonderful image, though I think perhaps in bw and a slower shutter speed would have given you a creeper and darker feel that cemataries invoke.

you got the right perspective on this one.. but i agree with vm, too much blur.. i know you meant it to be this way, but the focus area is just too small, considering the subject.

i shot something very similar to this. it's gorgeous! the composure and everything. check out my photography section i think you will see that we sort of use the same methods.

This makes my brain hurt because of all the thinking and emotion it is bringing to me. Photographs touch people in so many different ways. This one is great. Everyone should look at it.

Just one suggestion - if you take it at a time of day, (or with the lighting) to give some noticable shadows on the piece that would be awesome. They would complement the message very well.

I really do love this image. When viewed in full on my monitor, for some reason it started getting me thinking about death and that whole topic. The lighting is great, and the texture captured of the stone is really high quality.
