Description Adventure,
It's a long road,
and vast waters to set sail
It's all the ground in between
that takes me away from home.
Like a message in a bottle tossed carelessly into the sea.
It's what we call our hopes,
our dreams,
and I long to be set free.
Dear adventure,
Help me find what I'm looking for,
Heroic revolution,
the future is calling to me.
Adolescent regret,
the past stands with you sadly by the shore.
Subjective pain,
I know you're waiting paitiently for my return.
Oh familiar fear,
this time I'm not looking back.
Eager hope,
I'm dreaming of a better tomorrow.
No stranger we are, depresion,
but this time I won't ever return.
And tired nostaglia,
this time I swear it's all going to fade.
Dear Adevnture,
Take me away

I'd love to see this in a story book that my children will someday read or I will read to them when they are growing up. It strikes me as something I would see on the cover of a children's adventure book.

Thank you! I was going for a more innocent adventureous atmosphere.

I am awestruck. Really. For a minute just now I was eleven years old again and out to conquer/save the world.

You did a wonderful job on this, I don't know what you were aiming for, but the whole piece just radiates a child's sense of wonder and thirst for glory. The brightness of the scene reminds me of the way everything, every aspect of life once held possibility. Nothing was a threat, nothing was too dark or too dangerous to approach, and the idea of running away was a completely alien one.

I love the glow in the distance. It seems to touch everything, so that even the shadows are filled with color and shape. The girl and the boy are such perfect representations of girls and boys. He hears the story and is ready for action, ready to join, and she is listening so as to hear even what is not said, and locking it all away where she will remember it forever.

I think you really caught the feeling behind this. I had a lot of fun capture the childlike daydream nature of it all.

It's absolutely lovely. The old man almost looks like he's part of a tree, the way you did his clothing.
