Description Ok, not a final design or anything. Mainly I'm thinking maybe his head should be larger and limbs shorter. Also the back plates should be more ordered, right now they've got to impact mobility, heh. Redesigns aren't necessarily limited to those areas.

This is a case where the placeholder name is kind of embarassing - jI mentioned a slight resemblance to Carnotaurus, and in his universe this creature has a deeply terrible and not entirely undeserved reputation, so notes currently have him down as "Thanotaurus" which is more 'death-bull' than calling on anything lizard like about him, so I need to fix it.

This story actually has roots way back in a fanfiction I never did, and I needed a creature to take over Godzilla's role. Not saying he's up to it, I'm sure Godzilla will win in a fight, but this guy's the star of his own story now.
"Thanotaurus" is likely the most powerful monster to arise in the wave of mutations. Several ships and small deployments had been disappearing along "Thanotaurus's" path when it was discovered. Its course was taking it to America's shores (I haven't decided on a city to do this to yet) - the military set up a massive defense where it would come onland, only to be soundly defeated in an embarassingly short amount of time. The creature made its path through the United States as history grows increasingly sketchy. Eventually the unknown catastrophe in the Southwest occurs and only "Thanotaurus" emerged from the dead land. As a result, "Thanotaurus" has grown to be something of a legend, taking a probably inappropriate amount of blame for the fall of civilization.
"Thanotaurus" is a notably arrogant creature, prone to ignoring a lot of its surroundings and being caught off guard when an opponent actually proves a challenge - though it will get better about this. Attacking him - such that he notices - is generally a surefire way to recieve a counter-attack, most everyone has learned this fact and steers clear.

This design looks a little more 'scrappy fighter' than 'ungodly menace' to me, so I'm toying with making him far larger than most other monsters he shares a universe ith. It's all a work in progress.

Hmmm, may I suggest in making his stand erect.

My first thought was to an upright posture, but back here - [link] - everyone I asked liked the more dinosaurian look. I'll get on more competing pictures I guess.
