Very cool! I really need to do more actual spritework, and work on getting all of my super-old Megaman sprites up on here.

I should call him pyro man, because he's more powerfull than pyro. If Pyro was a Robot Master, Pyro should be called Pyro Woman, since she had (inserta3letterhatewordhere) with Spy. Anyways, can I use it for my Mega Man 7 8-bit edition mod "Mega Man Xtreme 3: Robot Master rampage"?

it's under "Greek" and it means "Burning"

well, in the dictionary.com link I posted, it does mention it comes from a greek word meaning burning, but it comes from the burnt appearance of some species of flowers.
I said it has more to do with flowers than the sun. Also, burning isn't too appropriate either. Solar man is more about using solar power than about burning things.

copyright infringement? so making a mega man fan game doesn't already violate that? Capcom does have the right I believe to issue me a cease and desist order on this game at anytime, not sure about fan art though...
and I'm sure there could be 2 solar men... there are 2 oil men, 2 blade men, and 2 wave men... check out mega man 3 for DOS

Well technically, as long as you credit capcom's characters and idea, it's fine to make a fan game, but if your game isn't completely finished, and an official RM is made with the same name, capcom do have the right to sue you, no matter what.
I know about Mega Man 3 for DOS, but I'm not exactly sure who made it, but if it's not capcom, they probably have credited them somehow. And I'm not trying to be a troll or anything, I do like your idea, it's just the name.

even if I credit them, they still have the right to shut me down if they wish. But also, if it was any other one of my characters sans maybe 5 other ones, I wouldn't have a problem changing the name... but solar man is one of those special ones. besides, by the time I make finish the game, MM11 and 12 will probably be out and use more of my robot master's names -_-'

Well they do, but I don't see for what reason though.
It does take Capcom quite some time to make games, they made 11 classic games in 20 years, a bit slow, considering.
