Description
This is my fan Robot Master, Solar Man.Robot masters are the bosses from the classic mega man universe.
he's for a project I'm working on with game maker, don't expect to see anything soon though
his description:
Solar Man is a space station maintenance robot. with his solar dash, he can fly though space. The two solar panels on his back gather solar energy, then releases a solar flare.

I am judging by the serial number that he isn't a Dr. Wily-built machine, anyhow, so that would help as a reason for having the same name, being built by someone completely different and all.

I like this robot master, itΒ΄s very well made.
The only downside that I find(no itΒ΄s not that!) is that, well... IΒ΄ve already found like 4 other RMs with the same name (the capcom original included). But personally I think THIS ONE truly deserves that name, the original could have gone with Sun Man or Sol Man.

mine is just designed to be an NES character, thus the simpler design, but both have the whole solar panel theme and "wings"

SOLAR man, there is a real solar man. just rename him sun man and it's cool. though I once again want to say that this is realy high quality, certainly one of the better fan games i've seen.

well, one, it's technically not a fan game yet, haven't had any time to work on it, only got a basic buggy engine so far, mostly trying to set up an interface.
also, I had solar man first. sure it's official, but whatever, there's already been a blade man before.
I created solar man about 6 years ago, and he's on of my favorites, so there's no way I'm changing his name

I consider all 'fan games' and 'fan robots' canon, until proven otherwise. as long as it follows the rule that all robot masters are unique and such

well, mine was there long before capcom created solar man for MM10, so if you consider fan robots canon, that would make mine canon before capcoms?

My order of canon:
1: Capcom.
2: Anything I come up with.
3: Other people and fangames. However, this fangame needs to 95-100% original, I mean, the robot masters can't just be recolors of old ones, or the head of turbo, legs of air and body of metal, you know what I mean?

okay, I see, but what about licensed stuff? I mean, even capcom acknowledges some of those robot masters, like from MM&B challengers from the future for the wonderswan. One of the robot masters cameo in one of the ZX games.
and Quint is the only rockman killer not in MM10, which would suggest that either capcom realized how dumb an idea he was, or that he changed his name to rockman shadow and died.
and I believe the latter kind of sprites are known as frankensteins within the spriting community.

You mean what do I think of the robot masters of MM&Bass Challangers from the future? I don't like em, in fact they are stupid ideas and I think that some of them don't even make sense. I don't think the game is 100% canon anyway (it wasn't even delopped by capcom) . I would say that your masters are more canon than that games master. Yours also make more sense.

I don't know, compass man was pretty bad ass. and yeah, the game was licensed to bandai, but konro man does make a cameo in a comic book in ZXA I believe, so that might make him at least somewhat canon

idk, it is to bad... this is one of the most impressive fan sets out there, but it just kinda... feels like, when you wanted a certain toy of action figure or whatever, and your parents bring home another one or a fake one... it just feels, incomplete.

yeah I know, the real 'Solar' Man may not be very Solar. But what is done is done, and I think the fanbase has 'to move on', I will say that this Solar Man has a very 'wide' design, like I said before Energy Man would work just fine.
