Hey everyone,
I wrote a guide describing the major steps of how I created my artwork "Goblet of Giants" for dev.mattepaint.com/gallery . You can read the article in their blog over here and it's free:
medium.com/mattepaint/art-guid…
For 250 credits (from mattepaint.com) you can additionally purchase a pack of stocks, which includes some of the images I used to create this artwork, and a few more.
On top of that you'll get my original fullsize psd-file along with it. I don't usually give away my psd-files so this may very well be your only chance to ever get to see it!
mattepaint.com/artwork-guides/
Mattepaint.com is subscription-based so in order to purchase the pack you might have to go for the 500 credits/month option for 19$.
Please don't hate as I actually don't make anything from your purchases. I'm just here to let you know about the opportunity to learn from my workflow.
See the fullsize work including stock credits here:
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Nice tut, Id be interested in seeing a speed art by you . I find alot of your comments interesting too, Like image size. I have been struggling with it myself lately as im using a laptop atm because my big gaming pc broke down. I think 7000 pixels is pretty massive I usually go off a dslr,s pixel count where a cropped senor is around 3500 pixels which is now my minimum that I like to work at and a full frame camera is more around 5 to 7 which is what you are working at. Its all fine but as you said it depends on your computer and the last thing I did almost killed this laptop and I actually tryied what you had said by making a new psd with basically merged layers so its a bit smaller. Another thing is smart objects you said you use them for a non destructive work flow but the thing is they are one of the main reasons your file is huge so these days instead of using smart objects ill just clip it to the original so you also have the option to go back and change it if you want, I still see it as non destructve because you havent deleted anything you cant get back by just another adjustment. Anyways its nice to see some of your workflow and ideas.

that's true. Indeed I use smart objects only since I have my new computer which can handle much larger files than the old one. With my previous setup I worked exactly the way you explained it. What I like about smart objects is that they allow you to apply filters with the option to disable them or change the settings later on. That's super useful. I try to keep it to a few smart objects because they are generally slow and annoying to work with.
I don't think a speed art would be very interesting from me as I do a lot of useless stuff spread over a long period of time. But lets see.
