Description
This is the first part of a series I have been working on, depicting the seduction and consumption of a soul by a demon. The progress is shown in five steps, where the victim is at first lured by the demon gaining new and unknown powers in the process. She progressively loses hold over her own entity to become merely a vessel of her occupier, and when the soul is finally consumed the demon leaves only an empty void behind.Being covered in countless of novels and movies, the idea of possession is a classic one. What inspired me to do my own take on the subject was reading the book "Children of Dune" and partly also playing the latest Dragon Age game. The images are all finished and I will upload them here one by one within the next month. They will be named in order 'Entangled - Gaia - Abomination - Vessel - The Void' and will present different stations of the hostile takeover as described above. If you want to get a full preview, they are all included in the latest Slashthree exhibition "Discovery" .
My main motivation to create these images was not the concept, though, but to explore a different style for me and employ new techniques. All images are very heavy on texture usage and I intentionally tried to break a rule every now and then to step out of my comfort zone. You will also find a lot of recurring elements in every image, e.g., the demonic features are usually presented by roots, stones and ivy, whereas for the postwork I limited myself to a closed set of textures that you will recognize.
Kudos if you are still reading at this point. ;-D

This is amazing, both as a stand alone work and as part of a series, the rest of which I can't wait to see. It's notable too as a dramatic departure from the subject matter you've chosen before. Very, very cool!

Kein Problem
