Description
Testament of the Majestic BeastSlashTHREE exhibition 12: Steampunk
This is a quite quick matte painting I did as a sequel to "Glampunk Spacepipes". About 8 hours of work and everything done with Photoshop and my Wacom Bamboo.

before-after:
Story: Steampipelines from Earth to Mars.
Once upon a time the people from Earth found out that mysteriously enough steam is the best element to transport energy.
In order to connect the steam pipelines with outer space humans had to build giant atmosphere emitters to create an artificial atmosphere. The new technology doesn't work as they would like it to. At places where the selfexpanding pipes break through Earth's atmosphere, huge ozone holes cause an incredibly hot and dangerous environment. All life slowly fades away due to too hot machines which produce an unfavourable oxygen content in the air, while anomalous hurricanes and lightning turn the dilemma into an irreversible process.
Thank you guys for all the favs and comments, I appreciate it!

This piece of fine art is standing out on many ways. It evokes tremendous fire in your eyes, provokes your attention for more than a whit of time and invokes sentiments in your mind which explode and morph into a magnitude of mentations, the effect on first sight is brilliant.
In my eyes the birds in the background configure the most obvious concern I do not understand. You actually make use of birds and other flying animals to create a rather calm atmosphere full of tranquility. But this scene neither shall be calm or hopeful, it shows the devastation of the place and the world. In this way I think the birds do not exactly fit into that concept.
An other point exists in the focal of the work. The birds guide your glimpse onto the left side, but I think the focal lies on the machine. Anyways these points are the only one getting my attention and I would love to see them changed.
The last thing I want to mention is the overwhelming quality in any part of this work here. Erik elusively captured the new situation caused by the ozone holes. Because if you see that today, this is a surreal situation, hence I am astonished it looks so realistic.

kire, i've seen a lot of your work, you know that I know that YOU KNOW you are great at this e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title="
(Wink)" /> all of the elements in here are nearly perfect, except for perhaps a few flaws, of which I do not wish to look for because it'd totally ruin this piece. it's absolutely amazing. the lighting is near perfect in all of the areas. the details and sharpness does not vary, and that unifies the entire piece. it's stunning, really, man

thanks a lot mate, I appreciate it!
Personally I am quite on the fence with this one. I love the mood, but it is a bit monotone and not as accurate as most of my other works. A quicky.

sometimes the best works are the one which are done the quickest. With pieces the designer are proud of, are mostly the onces which are most forced and you can feel that

This is really nice - the angle is nice, the colours work really well, and there's a great sense of motion. Good job!
