Description
- Budapest x Khao Sok -This is a mash-up of panorama shots from my two most recent vacations to Hungary and Thailand. This was quite fun and unexpected, I might even do this more often.
The original panorama plate was taken with my phone and came with a distortion created by three diverging vanishing points on the horizontal line. Working with this plate began as an interesting experiment but soon started to give me trouble when I had to adjust my objects according to those three vanishing points. I couldn't really decide whether I wanted to cover up the distortion or to take advantage of it. Anyway, please remind me never to work with my own cell phone panorama plates again in the future.
That being said, I'm sorry for the really long hiatus. My absense was caused by a number of reasons: very tedious collaborative artwork (still not finished!), followed by an extra long artist block and a new job environment. I'm hoping to be more active again from now after things have settled down a bit and my inspiration has returned to me.
Thanks a lot to the stock providers for the additional images I used in this composition:

I can imagine having high tea at that veranda overlooking the beautiful scenery, while classical music plays on the gramophone beside. Great work as always!

haha, the original place was actually quite touristy, but the Basilika in Budapest is still recommended if you ever have a chance to be there. Thanks for the comment and glad you like it mate!

es ist wirklich recht dunkel, aber geändert habe ich seit dem Upload nichts.
Auf jeden Fall war es mal ein interessantes Experiment, würde aber in Zukunft das Format wieder etwas schmaler machen. Danke für deinen Kommentar!

thanks! I find the symmetry interesting here as well. Normally I try to stay away from it because it can often be a little boring. Glad you like it and thanks for your comment!

Just last weekend I was wondering what the heck had happened to you ... and now this The boats remind me of something I've read just recently ... but that combination of sails and windmill makes no sense at all *g* Special type of Flying Dutchmen I guess ... but IMHO the people on the ships, especially those on the right ship, are too big compared to how far away they are supposed to be.
But a very nice, dreamlike atmosphere!

haha I do agree about the ship design. The basic windmill version didn't seem flyable at all (too much heavy wood and no means to actually catch the wind) so I added the sails in order to make it more believable, which overall seems stupid nonetheless. The people seem a bit huge to me too, but I compared them to the windows below and since the people are closer to the viewer I assumed their size was reasonable.
Thanks a ton for the critique and I'm glad you like it!
