Description
- Budapest x Khao Sok -This is a mash-up of panorama shots from my two most recent vacations to Hungary and Thailand. This was quite fun and unexpected, I might even do this more often.
The original panorama plate was taken with my phone and came with a distortion created by three diverging vanishing points on the horizontal line. Working with this plate began as an interesting experiment but soon started to give me trouble when I had to adjust my objects according to those three vanishing points. I couldn't really decide whether I wanted to cover up the distortion or to take advantage of it. Anyway, please remind me never to work with my own cell phone panorama plates again in the future.
That being said, I'm sorry for the really long hiatus. My absense was caused by a number of reasons: very tedious collaborative artwork (still not finished!), followed by an extra long artist block and a new job environment. I'm hoping to be more active again from now after things have settled down a bit and my inspiration has returned to me.
Thanks a lot to the stock providers for the additional images I used in this composition:

thanks mate! It's relieving to know that I'm still able to brush the rust off a little after a few months.

Artblock?
) Hatte einfach irgendwie keine Lust. Vor allem wenn es im Leben drum herum irgendwie drunter und drüber geht, hab ich oft absolut keine Inspiration für Manips.

Cool piece! Best idea are for sure, for me, those boats + the combination of windmill and wow for sure those boats don't use clean energy hahaha Who don't have closed the windows in those buldings for sure will be death immediately with that toxic smog
Of course i like the city expecially the part with mechanism.
Cover up the distortion or to take advantage of it Cover up a curvilinear perpective is almost impossible if you don't erase completely the visible distortion..but also doing this the issue remains expecially it the original image is a native panorama. So in few words....you are obliged to use curvilinear perspective to take advantage of it. -- www.treeshark.com/BlogPosts/Tu… This perspective is perfect for panorama with this this type of distortion well visible in this work.
Probably did you cut out the bottom part? If there was the curve created by the wall.....you could use it perfectly. The problem of course comes when you have to add "new" building in the scene
Personally i don't have still the courage to use it haha im still fighting with others things

that grid is pretty much what I used for myself except I applied it to the sky area as well. And I actually reshaped the curve of the wall a bit because it didn't fit the composition so well.
I don't think it is really worth it to go into that direction to be honest. The distortion was criticized by a concept artist right away. Thanks to the distortion you can make a 360 degree photo out of it pretty easily though
Glad you like the concept and idea though!

I was reading some comment around...like the fake user writing here about hair shampoo! for real people are not well!!! In my last work some user wrote similar shit but in my case the comment was: "im looking out of the window, drinking tea"......Banned immediately and permanent
The same for some other comment without a sense. i hope Mozzilla and Common creative in the next future start their project to reset the net from all the trash Advertising....conceptually death and collapsed for years..... an important scourge of today's society. www.fastcompany.com/90403645/m…
To come back to the work, you wrote you reshaped the curve of the wall....well i don't know the original but for sure the wall is excellent. Only the two towers create a perspective issue because the geometric shape of them collide the near curve of the wall and building. The right part without the tower would been perfect at 99% because the smoke hide excellent part of the scene and the buildings fit perfectly with the curve.
The left part same thing but this time at 100% because the building down have a natural curve that fit perfectly with the wall......
What i think watching again this part?? I think it was possible also clone the natural curve of the building on the left...on the building of the right....This to create the "perfection"
Of course these details are extra. i watch only because im interested to learn from each work im studying and of course i see to acqire more visual experience of this specific perspective topic curve.
I don't think it is really worth it to go into that direction to be honest I know what you mean and i agree with you but partially. This because personally it has sense only if you got specific images and the entire structure has a specific global look! First or after i will try to complete this type of work im talking to explain my concept, a work relative last january never completed because the time as always is an huge enemy.
Perspective, studies and bla bla.......and then you see some user copy art of COOL extracool artists and blend them togher. Like this last user Olivier....the new frontier of thieves that thinks writing" I do not claim ownership of any of the original artwork used" is safe........ for real my balls fall down hahha

This has me thinking of what other vastly different cultures you could mix together, like some sort of alternative history that might suggest some conflict or influence here happened in the past and now there's elements of both societies merged together in the same city. The gloomy atmosphere and overhead mountains definitely give it a surreal look almost like this is a past era we're seeing.

yup, I thought this was quite interesting about the design of Budapest - you could see clashing architecture styles throughout the city. The plate even had some futuristic office buildings in there which I decided to remove, though, because it was simply too distracting in a scene like this. It is probably a historical thing because Hungary had a variety of allegiances and oppressors over time. Also, as far as I know the design for the super popular parliament building was created and chosen in a public contest.

hehe if you're referring to the city layout and the towers that is actually the true Budapest architecture. The clash is quite present troughout the city
Glad you like the result!
