I had seen this before, but it means more now that PoD and I collaborate some.
Excellent art depiction here, and poor Dawn, looks like game over for her.

My view on the fatal peril she faces are that it's a bold and exciting move by the artists and writers to shock us. The first time I 'killed' a character on my DA page I got some complaints but three times as many favourites and record page hits. I think this kind of content is extremely popular but it would be nice if the 'pro death' lobby stood up and were counted once in a while.
I love how you have drawn Dawn here - I just wish there was one picture of her unconscious after the chloroform. Great work.

I have have no problem with a damsel meeting a fatal end. Sometimes it's more provocative that way. So the damsel had to die. That's unfortunate. But what would satisfy me more would know that in some way the creep in the Freddy Kruger sweater gets his comeuppance. Karma's funny that way.

Thanks for your hard work, Erickson. I don't often comment to people who have done work for my website, but wow, you REALLY have some strongly opinionated fans (that's good!). I could not resist chiming in on this one (I'm a glutton for punishment by others). I guess I'll offer the only reply that I know. The internet is LITTERED with damsels in distress getting rescued, going back decades worth of material. And then there is the other side of things that are VERY dark/graphic/violent/sexual. To be 100% honest, the Perils of Dawn was meant to be something... DIFFERENT. I wanted to put something up there that 100 other people before me had NOT done. The site is meant to be a satire on many levels of the damsel genre. I dunno, I'm surprised at how polarizing it is here on DA. I have a lot of fans and a lot of NOT fans LOL. Anyhoo, I hope people can allow me to keep something different out there on the internet while engaging in the wonderful talents of artists like Erikson to get that satirical message across. Dawn Meadows is a very near and dear character to me, and there's so much more there beyond the darkness. Take care all!

I am a huge fan of Dawn meadows and her site and Roellafan's art inspired me to get my own comissions done where my heroines fall in defeat to evil villians. It is good to have stuff out there that caters to everyone and the fans like me that enjoy it when the heroine dies or just utterly fails in the end deserve to have their own artwork and stories out there too. Great job Erikson!
