Possibly one of the fastest references I've been able to get done... Usually they're not this pretty unless I work on them off and on for months xD

So... Here's my character for the group

Personality: I wrote a lot of notes on him during school... so there's gonna be a flood of stuff here... Not exclusively personality, but I have to write it somewhere

Roc is large, hence his name. He is powerful, and as a youngster, he often doesn't know his own strength. He's also a terrible flier throughout his life, needing a high place to leap from and thermals to soar. He is a deep thinker, although he is insensitive and unsympathetic. He's not really intelligent, but he knows when he's being decieved.
Roc is extremely quiet [it's rather accepted that he is mute, but he's just awkward with words and he finds body language a better alternative], and is often bullied because of it. The gryphs his age will pick other things to molest him about as well, such as his large size [fatty]. He doesn't have much of a temper; even if he is angry, he won't show it, because he doesn't want bullies to have the satisfaction. He really just yearns to be somewhere that he'll be respected for being so statuesque and stoic, and not picked on for being the quiet lad in the group.
Roc will likely leave his lax and undisiplined home at some age, and go somewhere he'll be able to get revenge on the twits who picked on him as a kid. He's a little unstable as an adult, and can blow up without warning at random annoyances, which could be tolerable one day and totally set him off the next. He will kill without hesitation, and will enjoy needless, bloody massacre as a hobby of sorts. He'll also use his silence to his advantage, simply walking up behind some young gryph and scaring the ever-loving crap out of it. His self esteem will be rather low, although he will seem proud and strong because he never voices it. He always seems to have a fierce and rebellious gleam to his eye.

I like to put a little of me in all my characters... The bit of me that's in Roc is the bit about his bullying. I've always been picked on because I'm quiet and I don't fight back. I've learned that when you're quiet, bullies will harass you for any trait you've got, good or bad.

His story is subject to change a little bit, in case he finds a mate or good friends, which I'm hoping he does later in life, because he could use a little softening up. Maybe a pretty lady gryph [or maybe a male? idk] could love on him and teach him the beauty of nature and all that shiz? He's pretty awkward with the whole friend-making/loving stuffs

A few notes... His front paws are feline and barely dextrous, they just don't have fur. And his feline half matures faster than the bird half, so while he might have the adult coloration of the American lion in the teenage phase, he still has the immature plumage of the Imperial eagle.

I'm really curious as to what happens to reference sheets when a gryph switches aeries... o.o;;

And... I really can't believe I like him as much as I do. He's kinda cliche, but aesthetically, I LOVE HIM. I rarely love my characters!
