I never thought I would do a Tutorial of anything,but here it is.Its far from complete,but I wanted to show you How i do sprites.BTW,If you dont have a scanner,you can always use a Digital tablet,pen or anything else to do the sketch...or just do it on MS Paint,whatever suits you best.
Hope u like it as much as I enjoyed doing it.If you have any questions,just ask ^^

Paint doesn't have a layers feature. Download GIMP, it's free and similar to Photoshop.

MS Paint? that program has no layer tools,so it wont work.
However,you can Download GIMP for free,which is similar to Photoshop.That program will work great!

Yeah some people don't have scanners and Paint Shop Pro, Gmp, Photoshop, whatever, so there's a small snag. You can just use circles, and the curve tool in paint if you have skills.

Of course.In fact,I used MS Paint alone couple of years ago.
But as i said before,this is an alternative way for those who do not want to use the mouse to draw the sprites on MS Paint and instead wish to set the poses on paper first.
(Also,GIMP is free and its as powerful as Photoshop

PokΓ©mon sprites are always black/darkgrey at the bottom in terms of outlines; your hitmonlee isn't.
just pointing that out.

I like how smooth the sprites look with dark colors rather than plain black,even on the outlines.
