Description I've added some face fat and then some hair to get the better idea how he would look but still I can't figure out whether he looks the age I want him to be.

Any ideas? How old does he look to you?

With the longer hair and quite young way of cut, he looks for me like mid of the twenties. Although he looks around the eyes a bit older. Nevertheless an amazing work!

I used Alex Rider from Stormbreaker as a reference for eyes but I guess he has really old eyes for his age...

The hair isn't final. I just added it so he wouldn't look like cancer victim or Winston Churchill

Thank you very much for your feedback I will definitely work on the eyes!

Very welcome!
Maybe it helps to have also a look on the chin. Right now it seems to be quite defined / striking ( sorry, its not my native language, hope you can understand, what I mean ). To soften the proportions a bit will maybe bring you more in the direction, you want to go.
your work are really very amazing!

Yes I can see it. I guess that I will have to exaggerate here as people except teenagers to be babyfaced. Good thing that the winter catalogue from NEXT arrived yesterday and there is a lot of young faces to analyze People in my family are too strong-jawed for this purpose XD

PS Danke! Ich spreche schlecht Deutsch The way you say it is perfectly fine (at least to me, I'm ESL myself ) I feel terrible about forgetting German To think that I used to tutor my brother just a few years ago!

I look at some teen pics myself and must admit, that I find it extremly difficult to day, what it really is, that make a teen look as a teen and not a child. In my opinion it is exactly this no more being babyfaced, that makes it so difficult

It's nice to read, that you are talking German as well. It is always difficult to keep a learned language, when you do not have too many possibilities to practices. I experienced this unfortunately by myself, too. But the good thing is, that you will find that more words and grammar are still known, than you thought, when you can speak it again.

Probably the shape of the neck give away the age, when you got older it sink in deeper so you can see the tone in the neck somehow.

Still a very nice job indeed

Yup, you're right! The neck seems to be the main problem (I guess). Thank you very much!

I'm a bad judge of age but I'd say somewhere in his 20's.
It's a very nice model though.

That's what I was afraid of. I tried to make a teenager and ended up with short adult

Thank you for feedback I will need to work on it a bit more...

No problem, feeback is the best part of an art community
I'm not sure how you'd feel about more 'advice' but I had a few thoughts.
Not sure if he's just a strong character, or perhaps it's the angle making him look buff, but less muscle in his neck and shoulders may encourage a younger look. I think being colored in could bring him down to 18- 19 possibly, it could just be me, but I always feel colorless faces look a little old. A little blush to his cheeks and nose could help a lot.
I can't say for sure from one angle, especially since it looks like he may have a narrower chin from straight on, but I think if he's like 15- 16 years old, giving him less of a strong jaw could help too. It's not like over overpoweringly manly, but a softer jawline looks younger than a stronger one. Hope some of that rambling is helpful...I really like faces, and I like feeback so I kinda went overboard heh.

Hi I have been wondering if you could let me know how old he looks to you now?

I checked him out and left comments but I think he's looking good, I like this 'older version' of him a lot, but he's definitely looking younger, and very well rendered

Thanks a lot. I will try to get the jaw softer. I was afraid to make it any softer because he started to look like my cousins wife

Yes he is quite buffed ([link] ) but I wanted to start with the face and then tone the muscles down. This is a concept sketch that I made for the character ([link] )

That's actually a really funny sentence, I laughed when I read it XD
I really like the sketch, though it's so much easier to make someone look young in a more cartoon style, but so tricky to pick out the features on a realistic face to get the same effect. I'm wishing you luck getting him just the way you want him
