You can use the crop tool to cut down the image. THen you can use the rectangular marquee tool to select what you want and hit 'ctrl + C' to copy it. Then you can create a new document and press 'ctrl + V' to past what you copied. Simple...

wow that's an interesting technique! THough I don't have Adobe Streamline I can't really try this. Great adivce though.

Wouldent it just be easyer to go in to image: adjustments and play around with the contrast and brightnes?

Very informative! = ) I do the lineart with the pen-tool nowdays since I donΒ΄t have much of steady hand for inking in RL really xD
