The set up was gorgeous. String lights, a golden hue, mild cinnamon smelling candles, and a stone dance floor. It was breath-taking. Tony (Pepper) always knew how to set up an amazing party. You got wolf-whistles ever since you got out of the limousine. You easily spotted Tony, the only man in the room to be wearing red and gold. (and rocking it) You sauntered over to him, a smile growing on his face as he took in your outfit.

“(Name) you look fantastic!” Tony mumbled in your ear as you both exchanged kisses on the cheek. “Thanks Tony, is Clint here yet?” You asked over the music. “I think the mission is running late, but he'll be here.” Tony reassured you. “Mrs. Barton, stunning as always.” You turned around to an unfamiliar face. He was handsome, you'd give him that much. Not as handsome as your husband of course.

Tony slipped away from you two, keeping a close eye on you though. He promised Clint he would look after you if anything ever happened to him, the whole team did. You reluctantly followed the man to the bar, he bought you a drink, knowing very well they were free of charge for you. You glanced inside it for any strange colorings of powders.

It was a habit you picked up from Clint.

“Spencer Owen” he greeted, offering a hand. “(Name) Barton” you replied grasping his hand to shake it, but he pulled your knuckles to his mouth for a kiss. You smiled uncomfortably and pulled you hand away. “How is marriage treating you?” He kindly asked, taking a sip of his martini. You grinned proudly, “Very, very well.” You began to ramble on about how you loved him, but Spencer didn't seem to care much.

“Let's dance” he cut off suddenly. He grabbed your hand and nearly dragged you to the dance floor. He pulled you flush against his chest, his hand resting too low on your back for you liking. You ignored your feeling and grabbed his hand, swaying across the floor.

“Hey Clint, how did the mission go?” Tony asked, handing him a water bottle as him and Pepper sat down at his table. “It was quick, but we ran into some turbulence. (Name) would kill me if I got blood on this tux.” “I wouldn't put it past her” Natasha said from behind. and slid into a chair. “So, were is (Na)-” He was cut off by Pepper. “What is Thor doing?” “Toasting PopTarts with his hammer.” Steve replied dumbly as he approached and sat into an empty chair next to Natasha. “Why?”

“I have a better question, who is that man and why is he touching my wife?” Clint growled, gaining everyone's attention. Tony spoke up, “Never seen him before, but he's got balls. If his hand goes any lower (Name)s gonna break it. Or how fast can you run Barton?” “Pretty damn fast!” Clint barked and sped off to the dance floor. The team chuckling at the jealous bird.

Spencer's hand slid lower and squeezed your rear. You pulled away about to beat the living shit out of him, that was until a hand snaked around your waist. You were pulled back to chest and you instantly relaxed smelling the cologne you bought Clint for Christmas. “Clint Barton, and you are?” He smiled viciously

“Spencer Ow-” you began but were once again cut off rudely by the man. “It's nice to meet you but I think Ms. (Name) is good enough company for me.” He hissed and made an attempt to grab your hand, but Clint smacked it away. Both men leveled glares, bending at the knee ready to attack. The music stopped and everyone crowded around.

You knew it was about to get ugly.

“AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!” Steve yelled, everyone ran out screaming in fear of being attacked. Natasha grabbed Spencer by the collar and dragged him into a dark hallway. Shrieks of pain were heard, Natasha came back out 5 minutes later with a smug grin.

Tony high-fived Steve and you hugged him, thanking him.

But everyone could tell that you and Clint were not happy with each other.
