Ovid shows us she is not a total prick by bringing Avery back to Johto, despite the risk that if she is found out they would try and kill her. And Avery shows he has... some... microscopic form of a backbone. I hope you now have more of an insight into Ovid and Avey's relationship. :3
I'll come back to write more interesting comments in the future. I hope you guys enjoyed. I'm sorry the panels were so boring. Origionally it was just going to be a few illustrations and it uh... evolved a bit.

Aah, this was a very interesting round! Neat to see it focused so solely on character interaction and development, and nicely done to boot~ It makes sense that not everyone is gonna be happening in the heat of battle, I like that you're making that your focus!
I really like the coloring, the colors you used are very nice and I love the limited yet diverse pallet, the lighting and shading is lovely.
The blue tone for the flashback was really nice, I knew immediately what was going on thanks to that. And the warm, muted tans give the characters life, its' very nice.
And I remember you were anxious about the amount of refinement, or lack thereof, of your drawings. I think this works pretty well actually! It's clear what's going on thanks to the colors, not to mention the sketches do look good enough, and you even manage to differentiate between Ovid and Avery thanks to the monocle as well as the different expressions each of them sports.
There's plenty more you can do with these characters, which is great for your coming rounds and anything you might do in between~

I really wanted to try and get a brief look into the dynamics of Ovid and Avery's relationship, so I focused on that. Maybe it was a little too far away from everything else? I'm not sure but I'm really glad you liked it. And the colors. And that whole last paragraph of support. Thank you SO MUCH.

Personally I think taking your round to just work on your characters was a very good idea. Especially since rounds have been sort of geared toward one class or another, there wasn't a whole lot for the navy to do this round so you worked it out well.
But gosh really, I'm just really glad you appreciate it that much! It's the least I can do, try to write a good response for a round I enjoy :,D
I see you now and then on Skype yet I just have no idea what to say to you, sorry about that :,D I'm bad with talking ahah, even these comments are hard to come up with and often times I just can't come up with anything! So, I really am glad to know you like it so much :,D

I vote we get more insight into Ovid next round. Just saying. There are lots of things that happened that I think we could all use a bit of clarification (why didn't Ovid just leave? Has she become somehow more tolerant/even affectionate toward Avery? What's up with the monocle?). I suppose this will all be revealled in good time, but man I'm excited for it! Great round!

This was really cool! Their relationship is very interesting. I also love the style this was done in, the colors were excellent and I liked the kind of sketchy quality to it all. Very cool.
