Engine 5 is located in Northern City of Sheridan and covers the Rural areas of Monarch and Acme which are sleeper towns for the mines and being reestablished as the industriy market grows again. In 2008 the City opened its 3rd station in 4 years and purchesed the 2008 Spartan Demo with the orgional 2 ordered that year for Engine 1 and 2. With Station 5 covering Ranchester and Dayton on Mutual aid calls the department had an 2010 engine refurbished into a tender in early 2021. Engine 5 is part of the Hazmat and Tender Taskforce. 
Engine 5 carries four 150' preconnected 1 3/4" crosslays, one 100' preconnected bumper tray line of 1 3/4" attack hose, two 8' segments of 5" hard suction hoses, one 15' segment of 5" large diameter supply hose in the engineer's compartment, two 25' segments of 2 1/2" supply/attack hose in the engineers compartment, two 50' rolls of 2 1/2" supply/attack hose with one of the rolls preconnected to a blitz fire nozzle for rapid deployment, one 150' high rise pack of 1 3/4" attack hose, and two 150' progressive hose packs of 1" wildland attack hose. Engine Twenty Four also carries two sets of forcible entry tools, one 14' roof ladder, one 24' extension ladder, one 10' collapsible attic ladder, two pike poles, one roof hook, one trash hook, two dry chemical extinguishers, one pressurized water extinguisher, four spare SCBA bottles, two sets of hydrant tools, hose adapters and nozzles, one denver tool, three 5 gallon containers of Class A foam solution, one automotive lockout kit, one 300' bag of life safety rope, two 150' lengths of utility rope, four rolls of fire scene tape, cribbing, battery powered extrication equipment, spare batteries for the extrication equipment, one salvage cover, two bags of quick absorbent, one wide mouth shovel, one push broom (disassembled for transport), one bolt cutter, one K-12 saw, one chainsaw, one water rescue dry suit, five collapsible traffic cones, ten road flares, gas monitoring devices, a thermal imaging camera, the crews ballistic PPE, one decon kit, one mobile data terminal, county map books, station area pre plan books, county wide hazard pre plan books, one lifepak, one trauma jump bag, one oxygen jump bag, one maternity jump bag, one suction kit, two long backboards, one spare M15 oxygen cylinder, and a ALS jump bag.
Staffing Lieutenant/Medic, Engineer/EMT, Firefighter 1/EMT-A and Probationary firefighter ( on A Shift). Firefighter 1/EMT-I on (B and C Shift)
