well in my experience it usually helps to overlap colours (ie: colour flat area, then second colour overlaps it)
plus it helps if the two colours are similar in shade.
Also to avoid the "cell shading" look a clear blender marker (a solvent based marker which dissolves the ink) kind of helps get rid of those lines.
Oh yeah, and also brush markers like copics or stadlers make the difference between regular sponge tip markers.
Hope that helped!

I'm wondering, what type of pen are you using to ink in this tutorial? It looks pretty nifty.
(: Haha, I've made a tutorial on how to make tutorials. But I scrapped it or something. Well, this was really useful to me! Glad I read it. And glad you put it together! One thing of curiousity is outta my head now.

Oh my goodness, thank you for explaining how to go about scanning and stitching this together. Though I'm surprised that this was on cold press watercolour paper. Don't you find it rough and bleedy? Of course, it's been years since I tried my markers on watercolour paper, so who am I to judge. XD
Thank you for the time it took to put this together. I appreciate it. :3
