Description
This is the second and final version of the Goblin.I reworked the eyes, the nose and many other facial features. I thought the original version didn't look quite the part, so I decided to age him a lot more.
The skin color texture was poly-painted in ZB by hand (no texture sampling used).
Rendered in ZB using BPR.
Composited and color corrected in Photoshop.
Original low-rez mesh modeled in Maya 2010: 3,592 polys
Sculpted, textured, polypainted and rendered in ZBrush 4: 58.5 million polys
Cymae, Thank you so much for the DD!
This is my first one and I am absolutely delighted, thank you all for the support and the kind words!

Skin texture poly-painted in Zb... holy mother of cows, that's amazing
Design is very nice but the expression on his face is making the image just perfect

Thanks, man, I appreciate your nice comments!
Yes, I like creating many of my textures (specially skin) by Poly-painting them; it seems to give them a very life-like look.
Thanks, again!

What talent ! Sculptor, drawer, traditionnal and digital painter,... What else ? Oh yes, talentuous 3D modeler If I don't like very much the subject (everybody can't love goblins
), the modeling and texturing are exceptional !

Thank you so much for kind comments!
The major forms were done through a Displacement map, and the high-frequency details were done through a Normal map. The color textures were painted by hand using only poly-paint.

Thanks, buddy! I appreciate the kind words. You too, bro, you've got some pretty awesome renders yourself. I like the one with the orange and the Xmas one. They're very well done and very realistic.

I've been staring at this for a while. It's really quite amazing. Very fine sculpting. I can see you took great care on those extreme details. Everything looks so natural. The texture... wow... Brings new meaning to the word "photorealism"

Yep, my computer was not too happy, but it kept chuggin' along!
I check out you old head sculpt and it looks very promising. It just needs more muscle definition and better proportions overall. But you got a good base to work on.
My best advice to get great looking sculpts is to get yourself lots of anatomy books and diagrams, and learn as much as you can about it. Draw, draw, and draw the human figure as much as you can. Every believable character is based on real anatomy, so the more you know about it and practice it's implementation the more successful your sculpts will be. I hope this helps!

It does help a lot. I've been following the works of Ryan Kingslien lately and been watching some of his video on digital sculpting in ZBrush and I have found them to be very very useful and helpful. I've always loved working with ZBrush, but it wasn't until lately that I've really gotten down on learning how it really works and all the features it has hidden within (especially now that 4R2 came out).
Thanks again so much for replying back! I hope to see more of your work soon.
