It was really, really late lat night and my adderall was still in full-force so I figured I'd sit down and and see if I could somehow get elliptic split's into piethein21 's double-bubble setup, and I think I managed to do it. Replaced the two hemispheres with two different elliptic splits, each set of elliptic splits linked to its own respective curl, and then had the shared spherical link back to the original elliptic splits xforms (there were 6 of those total). Moved the whole thing from Apophysis to Chaotica, and got to tweaking- and it worked
By then I was tired, and went to bed just fine, lol.Thanks for looking!

wow. I can't even begin to fathom how you arrived at this point ... but this is breathtakingly, mind-bogglingly (are these even words??) .. stunningly beautiful. sort of like stained glass windows on steroids, positively ethereal .. sigh

Finally got the splits actually into bubbles tonight- so it's closer to your original method. Still a bit iffy on the xaos, and I'm sure it could be cleaner, but I'm having fun.
