The Pathfinder class Scoutship Lilienthal.

The Pathfinder class is a U.E.S.P.A. scout and work ship that was constructed for the Proxima mission to colonize Alpha Centauri in 2070. The Proxima Colony ship owns two of these ships, the Lilienthal and the Oberth, which are docked externally at the Proxima. The Pathfinder class were 47,30 meters long and were used as scouting ships and planetary landers. Once they have arrived in Alpha Centauri, these ships are to ensure that the modular Proxima is dismantled and transported safely to the surface of the colony so that it can serve as the basis for the first buildings.

In contrast to the mother ship, the Pathfinder class has no warp drive and is powered by two ion drives in the wings. A more powerful rocket engine is at the stern that is usually only used to escape the gravity of a planet.

Since the Proxima is only very lightly armed as a colony ship, the two Pathfinder ships also serve as the primary defense for their mother ship. They have two electromagnetic railguns, six missiles and a defense laser to intercept enemy explosives. Despite everything, they are still ships that are intended for reconnaissance and research. For this purpose, they have a large number of analysis devices and sensor platforms to monitor large areas.

The ships have three decks. Deck 1 is Viewing- and conference room and docking pod. Deck 2 houses the cockpit, sleeping facilities and the science laboratory. The lowest deck, deck 3, houses the engine room and landing facilities.

Almost 100 years later, the Pathfinder class is set to become the design basis of the Starfleet Minotaur class fighters used in the Romulan War.

In this case the name Euderion was the founder of the first Alpha Centauri colony and also the Captain of the Colony ship U.E.S. Proxima.
