I've never seen a photo that you can actually -feel- what's happening. This is absolutely amazing.

I love the angle this is at, it totally blows my mind at how I can feel dizzy looking at it. And it's okay if you rotated the original shot, some things look better at different angles. Also, you couldn't have picked a better day to shoot this pic, the sky looks amazing.

It was a mostly happenstance shot and it wasn't until I loaded it into Photoshop that I had any idea what I wanted to make of it -- but, still, I'm glad that it's appreciated to the extent that it is. Thanks!

She's flying!
I love how the clouds are. The wispy look really works. They sorta make it look like she's sitting on them. The composition is really awesome, and black-and-white is a very good choice. It's one of my top favorites now, for sure. A very well deserved DD.

Whoa.. just looking at it makes me dizzy in the stomach. But that's a cool angle, it reminds me in a way of a portal with the way the clouds are. Congrats on the DD by the way, I'd say you deserved it with this.

This is an extremely well done photo! The angle is just unmatched, I seriously feel motion sick just by looking at a still image. Very great job, the daily deviation is well deserved.

See, if I was in your shoes, I would've been scared of getting whacked in the head by swinging legs. Amazing picture you've got there. It really does feel infinite.

Hahaha -- I was scared of getting whacked in the head and moved to a safer area after one particularly close call. This was taken from the end of the swingset, actually, with a wide-angle lens.
Thanks!

Wheee!!!
hehe, nice photo. It reminds me of when I'd swing as a kid so high that I'd get dizzy and then jump off and go flying into the air, soring like a bird... till I'd hit the ground with a loud *thump*.

This might be the first time I've 'ed a DD... I usually think the DD's aren't all that deserving, but this one absolutely deserves it. I feel like I'm being flung, with the swinger, into that oh-so-enticing sky. Great work

amazing. Wouldnt it be awesome to have a life size print of this? The bar as a artificial horizon, and the halo around the persons head are true masterstrokes. It doesnt matter if it was chance or not, you did, you own it.
If you could drop me a brief line (or link me a tutorial) on how you personally process digital b&w that would be great. Peace.

Thank you; your remarks are reassuring.
My primary tool in processing monochrome images is Photoshop's "channel mixer" dialogue. I shoot only in color and later convert images to grayscale not by simply desaturating them but instead by filtering them as I'd do if shooting with a film camera and black and white film. This short tutorial explains the process I utilize far better than can I: [link]
