I notice how no one has asked this question yet: How did Jolteon know what evolution they would become? Because he gave names that fit their evolutions, but how did he know?

He probably didn't know. To me, the name "Crystal" would also fit if she became a Glaceon. And "Solarflare" (as explained in the story) was meant for a Leafeon (which Flare always wanted to evolve into). Or he might just named them after what they wanted to become in the future...? ^ ^
