It was almost as if my heart had managed to leap from my chest and soar up into heaven. Had I heard him right? I could feel my body swooning next to him.

"I mean it bro. Motherfucker, I've loved you for a long time."

My head was swimming. Gamzee Makara loves me. ME. Me of all the people he could choose from. I was overwhelmed with several emotions, I couldn't decide on how I wanted to react. It was then I felt something wet on my cheeks. Dammit.

"Woah, man, fuck, don't cry bro I'm sorry!"

He reached up and wiped a tear off of my cheek before weaving his fingers through the top of my hair, around the back of my hand, where it eventually rounded back to cup my cheek. I placed a hand over his and nuzzled into the warmth of his palm.

"I-I'm not crying because I'm sad Gamzee. I'm, uh, really happy actually." I felt myself smiling.

"I really love you too. I never, um, thought you'd ever feel the same."

He huffed and leaned down to kiss my forehead.

"I've had feelings for you since I've met you bro.. I barely even got up the fucking nerves to say hey to you when I first saw you. I'm motherfuckin glad I did." The corners of his lips curled up into a small, yet sad smile

I nuzzled closer to him, resting my head onto his chest, breathing in his scent.

"I uh, I felt something from the start too Gamzee. You gave me those, um, what are they called..? Tummy flutters..? A-and my heart always raced away when you were around."

His arms were around me, caressing my back with his palms, rubbing in soft circular motions. He pressed his cheek against the top of my head and sighed. We sat in silence. It felt good not having to speak for him to understand me. I could feel myself starting to dose off when a loud rumbling caused Gamzee to lurch forward with a loud gasp.
He scrambled off the bed and fumbled around on the floor, then seized his basketball shorts in his hands. He then dug out his phone and answered eagerly.

"Dad?"

Gamzee looked as though someone had slapped him, but at the same time he looked overly excited.

"Dad! What? Tonight?! Really? You're not joking are you..? Seriously..? What time? Holy shi- I mean, dang alright! I'll get tidied up. See you when you get here! Yeah, love you too."

He closed the phone and spun around to face me. He was grinning ear to ear. I sat up, propping myself on my elbow, and carefully covering my lower half with the blanket feeling somewhat awkward.

"My dad is on his way home. He'll be here in about twenty minutes!" Gamzee's voice was flooded with emotion. Now that I thought of it, Gamzee's dad had only been home once since we had been friends. Gamzee must've really missed him. I smiled softly.

"That's really great Gamzee, I'm happy for you."

He walked over to the bed and crawled over me, placing a sloppy kiss on my lips. His body felt hot to the touch, and his heart was beating so fast I could feel it throbbing within his chest.

"Holy shit bro, I can't believe he's gonna be home! I need to get ready! I gotta shower! Shit shit shit, man so much to do! Wait. Do you need any help bro?"

I looked down at my body. I'd have to shower too... Again... Gamzee must've read my mind, because the next I knew, he was carrying me into the bathroom. He set be gently onto the counter top next to the sink and ran over to the shower. The counter was extremely cold, causing me to squirm and utter a small noise of discomfort. Once more Gamzee aided me, and picked me up bridal style, holding me tightly to his chest and slipping into the shower. My first reaction was that the water was intensely hot, so I jumped, trying to distort my body in an odd fashion to avoid the downpour of the showerhead. This had caused me to tightly press myself against Gamzee, which then caused him to back into the wall of the shower trying to keep his balance.

He then kissed me, and turned so that instead of the water hitting me, it hit his back. I could feel the warm water trickle along his body, and slide over mine. His skin prickled at the sensation of the water, and he shivered. It was almost angelic. I won't lie; I was definitely peeking as we kissed. The combination of it all was making my head spin. The feel of his wet body against mine, covered in goose-bumps, the feel of the warm water, the feel of the cool wall behind me, and the feel of his lips against mine. Euphoria had not existed, nor had my mind known of it, until Gamzee had graced its presence. He pulled from the kiss and set me down gently, mouthing an 'I love you,' then started to wash his hair. After he had rinsed, he then vigorously scrubbed his body with a good smelling body wash. It smelled like his cologne. He then turned to me, placing a scrubbing pad in my hand, loading it with soap, then commenced to scrub my chest. He was gentle with his strokes, gliding up and down my chest, lathering it in the sweet smelling soap. Then, he turned me around to scrub my back. The feeling was amazing. I arched my back a bit, pushing against his hand. The sensation made me shiver, and covered my body in goose-bumps. He scrubbed down my back, over the back of my thighs, then paused at my legs near their attachments.

"Tav..? Are your legs supposed to all up and be in water man?"

I chuckled and turned to him.

"Uh yeah, they'll be ok. They're water proof and sealed, see? Water slips comes off them."

I stuck a leg out, turning it under the stream. The water dripped off. I tapped the attachment with my knuckle, testing how strongly it was sealed. It gave a somewhat hollow echo, but stayed put. Gamzee's eyebrows were raised. He looked amused.

"What a motherfucking miracle.."

His hand slid over the seal, slightly brushing against the skin close to it. It was unusual. I could see him touching it, but the nerves were dead there so I had no feeling. Gamzee looked down out his own legs, the stuck one next to mine and compared them.

"They don't look too fucking different man,"

He wiggled his foot.

"Real legs are lame man, yours are where it's at." He looked up and smiled at me. I couldn't help but chuckle. His arm looped around my waist, and pulled me underneath the water so he could rinse me.

We waited (somewhat) patiently in the kitchen at the breakfast nook for Gamzee's father to arrive. He anxiously grasped his phone in his hand, constantly checking it. Gamzee was very anxious, wringing his hands, and chewing his bottom lip. His eyes were transfixed on the door, not taking them off of it, unless he was checking his phone. I stared down at the counter and twiddled my thumbs. I was extremely nervous to meet Gamzee's father. I didn't know much about the man at, other than what Gamzee had told me. I wrinkled my nose. I've known Gamzee for a while now, yet there's still much about him that I don't know. I shot him a quick glance, then stared back to the counter. My stomach tingled. I wanted to know more about Gamzee. More than anyone. More than Karkat did. Though.. I doubt that would ever happen.. Nobody ever learns more than a best friend. Or so I think.. I'd never had one until I met Gamzee, even though with him it's different.
