I don't think you read wrong, I don't think it was stated super clear, but the mask is hollow, there is a line, where it says you cut out eyeholes, and the nostrils, even. So, Yea, it would be kind of silly to make a mask you couldn't wear. Then it would just be a latex sculpture. X3

Thanks for all this extensive information. I've always been fascinated by creating a mask in latex, but of course I could never aspire to your skill and abilities
Awesome and very generous of you to share

Absolutely wonderful of you to make this tutorial, Evan! The second half was twice as interesting and just as informative as the first - and for obvious reasons I was very interested in the painting (I see you use a Paasche). I'm also glad you mentioned the airbrush technique of painting light to dark (I've actually had people question me on the validity of this - as it's the opposite of traditional painting).
It was thoughtful of you to take good photos of each step of the way, and delightful to see you literally bring this mask to life! Thanks for taking the time and trouble!

This is really cool.
I've been thinking.. Since you're doing sculptures you have a good sense for 3d things, so that brings me to drawing. You should be good at it too by the knowledge you have.
Ever tried it?

thanks very much!
You are right about drawing - that should apply but I just cannot draw well. I can do my name in block letters...

Hehe, okay.
Well sculpting is your thing and I really don't think anyone would mind if you kept doing what you're good at.
