Issue 12, Page 16!*to the tune of the Danny Phantom theme song*
Yo Vennie Erin, she was just 14
When her sister built a very strange machine
It was designed to fight blue blurs, unseen
When the machine didn't work, her sister just quit
But then Vennie took a look inside of it
There was a bright red flash, a metal claw in range
Her intestines got all rearranged!
When she first woke up, she realized
She was a shiny and gold with glowing blue eyes
She could float through walls, disappear and fly
And had a gold link chain, unlike the other guys
It was then that she knew what she had to
She had to find another ghost and her big bro too
Who just got mindblown? ME AND YOU!

Hey Ms. Stanley, what made you decide to use a rendition of the Danny Phantom theme as Vennie's backstory?
Also, after what we learned about Worlds Unite recently, I have a few things to ask. And I'm hoping that you would know. 1) How can we tell which Orbot & Cubot is which? Both the Mobius Prime and Boom versions look the same. 2) How will the characters of Archie Sonic, Megaman, and Megaman X react to Boom characters' 4th wall breaking (Who is the "Marine clone" talking to)? 3) Would it include Sally and some other comic characters this time?

Downright my favourite page so far visually. Damn you and your rendering - this is blowin' up in my face - it's so gooood (especially the middle panel)!!
What accentuates the overall piece is how solid and dynamic Sonic, Silver and Vennie's poses & expressions are. Everything flows effortlessly and each panel speaks volumes.
Oh and the colors/color palette/complements marry the illustration work beautifully. Great stuff Evan.

Actually, that's a lot more common with Sonic, especially when dealing with other people. It's one of his best traits.
If you want a hedgehog that's NOT the best at being patient and gentle, you may want to take a look at Shadow. Captain Surly isn't the greatest at dealing with people

The Blaze Sonic knew was from the Sol Dimension-- it's highly likely that there's some sort of time difference between Sonic's world and Sol, with Sol being in the future-- remember in Sonic Rush, Eggman Nega says that his dimension's Eggman is one of his ancestors.
The Blaze that GOTF Silver knows is from Sonic's world, born 200ish years after Sonic's life. That's why GOTF Blaze is much less stuffy than her royal counterpart, doesn't know of Sonic, and her gem is removed-- she has a different life history.
(Sonic 06 suggests a slightly different sequence of events, but this is the explanation that makes the most sense to me)

That makes sense. But I'm still confused about characters such as Rouge, Vector, Espio, Tails, etc being around if this is 200 years later.
I like your idea of making the 2006 Blaze a completely separate character. That's quite clever and works well for this story, as well as making for a good explanation of the one in the game.
Mt own personal headcanon for that game was that Blaze had already moved to Sonic's world (either intentionally or unintentionally) but ended up in the future of the time line where she met Silver. At the end of the game when she sealed Iblis within herself, she was transported back to her dimension where she resumed the princess/guardian thing.

Ah-- Rouge, Omega, and the Chaotix don't exist in the comic's present-- they've all died long ago. The black and white flashbacks take place 200ish years in the past, directly after Sonic's death. They're always started with a narration caption that says "many years ago".

Silver's case is easy to explain. He's only in his [late] teens. As for Blaze, she IS also in her [late] teens, but there was a scene where Sonic mentioned Blaze's name. That was back in "Old Flames"... Can't remember which act, though.

Rouge was young because she was in a flashback in Shadow's timeline. As for Blaze, I believe the answer there is that there are two Blaze the cat, one that lived 200 hundred years in the past (in another dimension at that) and one that lives in the present of Sonic's dimension, who doesn't even know about Sonic.
