I love this comic so much, just seeing the progression is beautifully illustrated!

Sweet Mother of Mobius, this is both invigorating and horrifying at the same breath!
Invigorating because it's like those cheesy/tragic backstories that always lead to mighty acts of world-saving heroism in the grand design.
Horrifying because my imagination scares me sometimes with ideas for such tragic backstories, and I've actually considered doing this to Silver at one point.
