...Of course if you've never played SA2 this is a total non-event. Oops. Also, woo I finished the issue! Finally we can get on with things! And do my homework. THIS IS NOT THE REWARD I WANTED.

Well on a very old Sonic movie Knuckles had a hat,but then again that was Knuckles(Freedom) counterpart,not Knuckles (Prime)

There are different medias of the Sonic series,the games are the Prime dimension,Sonic the Hedgehog(movie,or simply OVA) is Freedom dimension

Let me rephrase everything:
The ARK was built by the United Federation and GUN funded Gerald's work in weapons research.
MeteoTech is the security manufacturing corporation (founded by Eggman) from Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity.
Eggman Nega is the Sol counterpart of Eggman Prime in Sonic Rush continuity and his ancestor 200 years into the future in Sonic Rivals continuity.
Seeing how GOTF contains essences of both, it is still up in the air whether Eggman Nega will appear at all. My assumption is that he still must have some hold over his ancestor's corporation, behind the scenes or as a political figure.
Does that sound more comprehensible?

But wait, the United Federation built it, then what would G.U.N have anything to do with this? and Eggman Nega is from a different dimension completely, why would he be in GOTF?

Considering GUN sponsored most of Gerald's work (and probably the rest of the research there, as they stormed the entire facility on that day), it is possible his research was brought down to Earth in order for it to help mankind. It's also possible Eggman Nega is abusing the technology to his own ends.
Now here's something I call The Silver Conundrum, started in Sonic 06. According to the games, Blaze is from the Sol Dimension and the future of the Chaos Dimension and so is Eggman Nega. If Silver knows them from the future, are there 2 copies of each of character?
In GOTF, no. Blaze and Silver both exist in the future, so why not include the latest incarnation of Eggman?

im sorry what?!?! Sega messed up on Sonic 06 by having Blaze in the future,Eggman Nega wouln't be in Mobius prime or whatever dimension GOTF takes place, Eggman nega has nothing to do with this...
However your probably right about G.U.N,maybe they did scavange some of the weapons and technology for there own purposes

In the Sonic Rival's (PSP only) series. Eggman Nega was the future version of Eggman. Silver went back in time to stop him... Twice.
