This kind of reminds me of those badniks in Hilltop Zone but they shot fire and didn't "reload" (it's from Sonic2)

Brilliant, a very creative take on the Star Pointer. The one piece goggle looks good, but have you thought about giving it separated goggles? I think that may be closer to the original sprite (at least to my eyes).

I'm not sure I like the idea of them having the ability to reform their ice balls. I suppose I can always blame you if it gets into the game. I'd love to see this in the game though, the design is more interesting than the original, but it still has a classic taste to it.

I hated those spiked up enemies in the old sonic games, they'd always pop up out of no where when i hade 99 rings just to tick me off.
