One of my fav photos my twin sister took of meIt looks like a movie poster xD (well i changed the tree avenue background to a desert one ... which fits her character better ^^)
The character is Commander Shepard from Mass Effect (2) :3
I really loved the second game because I could finally date Garrus

It's my first EVA foam armor I made and I'm super happy with it.
The armor is relatively comfortable and I could move freely around.
I'm super happy that I could cosplay as Shepard this year, since I couldn't last year because of my FFXIV Dragoon ^^

how long did this take? and what materials did you use? the armors really boss XDΒ

the weapon took me a month (1-2 hours a day, depending on time)
the armor also took me a month (again 1-2 hours a day ^^)
I used EVA foam, Velcro, hot Glue, elastic bands, plastic balls (for boobs), wood (to get the boobshape), metal (for the weapon core), el-wire fΓΌr the lights, many stanley knives xD and a lot of plasti dip and acryl colors. Β ^^

Goddamn, that looks amazing! Easily one of the best I've seen. I really like the pattern of the undersuit, really looks like the mesh the armour has in ME2. Masterfully done armour.

yes and no
it was my first eva armor project but since I've done a wonderflex one it was okay i guess.
I did the weapon before the armor and I got frustrated from time to time since it's not possible to cut perfect without a lasercutter
fortunately you can sand it pretty well
The male armor might be easier than the female armor. since the boobs and everything needs a good shape and a lot of stretching ^^

EVA might be easy to cut and mold but it is not the best choice when it comes to the finishing touches, it is way to spongy. TryΒ Plastazote foam as an alternative. There is a catch,Β Plastazote foam is very expensive.Β
EVA is not one of the best material around when it come to Health issues. Be careful. PVC hadΒ bisphenol-A (BPA) and phthalate issues and EVA hasΒ ammonia and formamide residue issues.Β Always do a smell check - if it smells strongly of chemicals, leave it on the store shelf. I think there is no alternative to it (like cotton, merino wool, natural rubber) just be careful with EVA.

well the one I used are for kids or sports, so they aren't really unhealthy.
I checked that, since I knew i had to heat and sand it

Every time I say armors like these I wonder how people put them on/off etc. XD Since they obviously have no zippers or anything.

well I used Velcro or elastic waistbandΒ for everything xD
So its well hidden and fits perfectly hehe.
I could even put it on myself without help ^^
