Damn, I did my research, looks like he got stabbed right through the lung, Robin's going to need some SERIOUS medical attention. His heart's on the other side though, so Sportsmaster really needs to brush up on biology or whatever.

Sportsmaster isn't a real word, but Taskmaster is. A person who enforces rigorous work.
Sportsmaster is pretty much a Deathstroke wannabe, while Deathstroke himself could be considered a copy of Taskmaster (Both extremely skilled mercenaries with troubled pasts and just in it for the money. And Taskmaster came first by a few months. No, seriously.)

SilasShrike In reply to oODark-DawnOo [2015-12-24 06:14:17 +0000 UTC]
Deathstroke is also known for working by a code of honor. Even though he later stopped, that was just because he was really sore at losing both his kids. One to the good side, Ravager 2, and one to death. He also has a third kid, Jericho, who I am pretty sure also died.

Yes, I'm pretty sure raping Terra and brainwashing her to do his bidding gives us a lot of information about his "honor". I hope you don't mind if I want to the the bastard burn.
Too bad Taskmaster has forgotten several times about having a family. Copying fighting moves in order to survive makes you forget what you did last week. The one time he remembered, he had to sacrifice that memory in order to save his family. Again.

Oh, don't get me started on Bludhaven's destruction! That was an INCREDIBLY stupid move on DC's part! It took a away a big part of Nightwing's character and reduced him as a second fiddle to Batman when the entire POINT OF NIGHTWING IS THAT HE OUTGREW THAT ISSUE AND BECAME HIS OWN MAN!
And let's not mention the fact that Nightwing was denied marriage twice and was raped twice! I mean, I never saw Marvel handle their characters that poorly- *remembers One More Day*
Grrrrrrrrrr... Why do I bother with comicbooks?

SilasShrike In reply to oODark-DawnOo [2015-12-25 19:19:57 +0000 UTC]
I always used to think that DC was better because they weren't so biased against women! Me and my sibs were looking at this list of comic book covers from marvel and were hard pressed to find any covers that had ONLY women on them that weren't eyecandy!! At least DC treats their female characters nicer in that aspect! And, rather depressingly, stuff like what you just mentioned happens mostly Batman's area of comics. (I might not be in any place to judge because I have rarely read in any other.) But about the destruction of Bludhaven, that was downright terrible, but they kind of had to it. I am not defending their actions. It mentions that he had finally succeeded in "curing" the place! That it was crime free! I am pretty sure he says this as he is looking for survivors, that for 24 or 36 hours, Bludhaven was completely crime free. So I can understand why DC did that. If they let it remain cured, Nightwing would not be able to leave the city! Well, without having to come back to a mess, that is. And that whole Desmond/Blockbuster thing might have had something to do with it.(maybe)

oODark-DawnOo In reply to SilasShrike [2015-12-25 19:35:53 +0000 UTC]
Covers mean jack shit. DC is very biased towards women. Wonder Woman and her excessive bondage, Starfire turning into an amnesia ridden slut, Power Girl, period. DC is just as guilty. If you want to praise DC for something over Marvel, do it for them having the courage to make Nightwing a successful fanservice character for all genders, instead of just assuming things from a quick glance at the covers.
And Nightwing never cured Bludhaven. He was just making a bit of progress. That's it.

A fan of both, actually. I won't berate a comicbook fan for preferring DC as long as he\she has understandable reasons to do so instead of just blind fanboyism. So, you're alright by me. And yes, both are guilty of foul play on many occasions.
In case you didn't notice or understand, I think Nightwing being a fanservice character is a GOOD thing. Why must men have all the fun? Let the ladies know that men are good looking too!

I know what you're talking about. But as a fan, I have to say, the New 52 is the worst thing DC Comics has ever done to Batman and Co.!! They took Batman's caution and stripped almost everyone of their backgrounds, giving them entirely new ones! The also changed personality
π: 0 β©: 1
oODark-DawnOo In reply to SilasShrike [2015-12-26 09:08:22 +0000 UTC]
Actually, the New 52 is the best thing to happen to Batman, but not his company. Now no one is am independent character and will always be compared to be lesser than Batman. In short, Batman and Joker will always beat everyone and everything because it's what the cancerous Batman fanboys want. It's that kind of arrogant dickheads I despise most, because they take away all the fun from reading comicbooks and turn everything into dick-measuring contests. So you can imagine my joy at seeing these fools cry when Batman lost his Death Battle with Spider-Man.
At least New 52 made Aquaman cool again. That's one plus.

Oh, yeah! I completely forgot to ask you about something until I saw one of your previous comments. You mentioned a death battle between Spider-Man and Batman, which Batman lost. Would yoind if I asked you how on earth that could have happened? I once saw the cover of (I think it was a Spidey comic, I'm not sure.) the Marvel/DC crossover. On it Spidey looked like he was under Venoms influence or something was impersonating him, and he was gonna fight Ironfist and Robin. (Dick Grayson.)

Alright then. But it was not a videogame, it was a Web Series. Like Red VS Blue. A TV series on YouTube that picks two combatants and pits them aganist each other in a duel to the death.
The two most popular vigilantes of all time, Spider-Manm and Batman, clashed in a Death Battle. It's a known fact that with preparation, both Spider-Man and Batman can beat anyone, so we got only their standard equipment, gladiator style. The winner was... Spider-Man. He was faster and stronger than Batman and even smarter! Batman's IQ is 180, while Spider-Man's is of 210. Next, most of Batman's gadgets are similar to that of Green Goblin's, thus making Spidey a bit more able to disarm them. His "Way of the Spider" martial art, which he invented with Shang-Chi, could match Batman's mastery of multipule martial arts. And his Spider-Sense negates all stealth, Batman's greatest weapon. Add in Spider-Man's better imporovisation skills and almost equal experience and it's game over. The video can be found here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8K1m6β¦

Thanks for the link! As soon as I saw that it was a YouTube series, I did the Skeksie "Hmmm-Hmmmmm." But what about Batman's arsenal of gases? (Don't laugh.) You know, fear gas, knockout gas, the shebang! I guess Spider-Man would win......

oODark-DawnOo In reply to SilasShrike [2016-01-06 20:29:34 +0000 UTC]
Fear gas is not part of his standard arsenal and knockout gas... The only knockout gas that worked on him was a grenade that causes asphyxia. Used by Green Goblin. He'd shrug it off or see it coming through his Spider-Sense. Remember, Spidey is VERY skilled and experienced. I ain't laughing, I lkie intelligent debates. I'll answer any questions you have.

What about tasers? And can't his suit heat up? That YouTube visor of the fight said that he had enough money to turn himself into a human taser. So why wouldn't he use it? And wouldn't Spidey sense that he could electrify him?
π: 0 β©: 1
oODark-DawnOo In reply to SilasShrike [2016-01-07 09:30:23 +0000 UTC]
The animation of the fight is not always accurate. It is there for entertainment purposes only. The research is all that matters.
As for the electricity, Spidey has insulated his suit to not get hurt as much by electricity. Spidey survived bolts of lighting from Electro, I don't think Batman's stun taser would hurt Spidey too much.

The show has given us several Marvel VS DC matchups: Iron Man VS Lex Luthor, Green Arrow VS Hawkeye, Deadpool VS Deathstroke and Rogue VS Wonder Woman. Other matchups include Raiden (Metal Gear) VS Wolverine, Beast VS Goliath and... Superman VS Goku. It's a cool show!

Who won between Green Arrow and Hawkeye?
π: 0 β©: 1
oODark-DawnOo In reply to SilasShrike [2016-01-09 09:37:34 +0000 UTC]
Hwakeye won. Their trick arrows matched each other. Green Arrow was more accurate, but Hawkeye was faster. Green Arrow was trained by one of the guys that trained Deathstroke, Hawkeye was trained by Captain America. Also, Hawkeye had a solo career as Ronin, with fighting skills that impressed Iron Fist, one of the best martial artists in the world. So they're equals in martial arts and arrows. Hawkeye takes the strength advantage, since his bow has a draw weight of 250 pounds, while Green Arrow's has a draw weight of 125. So, Hawkeye is stronger and faster. Add in the fact that he wears chainmail, which is better than Arrow's light getup and Hawkeye takes the win. And GA's girlfriend. static.comicvine.com/uploads/oβ¦

Okay, on the Aquaman point, I am forced to agree with the heartiest shouts of approval. BUT. I have to agree that the new52 did do something good. They brought Jason Todd back and made him cool. But the part where they erase his memory and then have him traveling to apokolips with Batman and everyone else but apparently remembers them all, I mean, what the heck?!
Not only that, they also removed Batgirl(Stephanie) and brought back Barbara Gordon as Batgirl, and I have to admit it, when they first announced it I was like YES!! And then they removed Cassandra Cain. And Stephanie Brown was nowhere to be found. They took all the people who had problems/impediments and erased them! And about Starfire, I was depressed when they made like what she is now. But after the New 52 SO MANY people acted differently! Supeman was arrogant to the point of idiocy, Red Robin's tenure as Bruce's sidekick was cut short but they have him being a royal-----face to Damian for being, what again?? (Not to mention his apparent need to prove everyone else has NO idea what they're doing) Batman was like "I have to tell you, if you're coming with us, that we might not come back.", I mean, in the pre-New52 they knew that EVERY TIME THEY LEFT THE CAVE, THEY MIGHT NOT COME BACK! So I have to say I understand the need for new material, stories, and characters, but please, leave their personalities alone! People loved them just the way they were! I have always been more of a Robin fan than a Batman fan, so when DC decided to reveal Nightwing's identity to the world I was just as stricken as everybody else. But when they killed batman in the joker battle, when Alfred loses a hand, that was it. Batman has been killed WAY to many times for anybody to take it seriously. Speaking of which, when they killed Damian Wayne I vowed I would never let DC have such control over my emotions again. They were slowly taking out the greatest characters and not even bothering to replace them properly!! But then we discover Bruce is alive but has no memory. Jason, what did pass on? (and what is with the current haircut?) because apparently losing your memory is now contagious! They seem to have retracted that hastily made move. But that whole Spyral thing, then Damian coming back to life and having superpowers(those were cool),
I guess my reaction was like, what could possibly happen that would make me go WOW? And lo and behold, they brought Steph back, they brought Cass back! I guess I'm just peeved about the fact that all these people I have grown to KNOW, have been changed.

Hey, when I said that Batman gets everything good and all the attention, that didn't include his sidekicks.
Also, I'm more of a Robin fan myself. Somehow, Batman has ended up being the least interesting character in his setting. (Gordon as Batman? Wat?)
They made Jason cool, you say? Last time I checked, he was an arrogant murderous emo prick. What changed about him?
Also, I didn't like Barbara Gordon's return as Batgirl. Now she's a generic Batman clone again. She was much better off as Oracle, because people didn't really give a shit about her before The Killing Joke. She was much more unique, original and interesting as Oracle.
As for Starfire, DC fixed her personality and even gave her her OWN SOLO COMICBOOK SERIES!
π: 0 β©: 1
SilasShrike In reply to oODark-DawnOo [2015-12-28 02:57:11 +0000 UTC]
Yes, they made made a really good call with giving Starfire her own comic book series! What made it more popular is the fact that the writer(do you read Comic Vine? There was an article there.) said he wanted to revert her personality back to the one she had in Teen Titans. The Cartoon. About the Jim Gordon as Batman thing, I was just kinda like NO YOU FOOLS for the whole thing. And what is with the whole Brother Eye/ Futures End thing? Bruce is obviously Batman in it but they seem to be going in a whole 'nother direction with that(don't even mention Tim Drake as Batman Beyond.) frankly I don't want to know where it goes.
I was so SAD when I read a Batgirl comic collection from the new 52 and found that she was turned into a weakling in the first few New 52 story arcs, which I can kinda understand, but still, then they turned her into an attention hog when they finally gave her her own city, just like they did Nightwing. By then I had already about quit, so it didn't really knock the wind out of me like before.( Nightwing being revealed as Duck Grayson and Damian kicking the bucket.) But what the New 52 did for Jason; 1, they brought him back in the game, not Gotham, but the Batfamily in general so he could participate, 2, they gave him his own "team" the outlaws, and 3, foot fetish. If they( bad guys) do truly terrible things expect to have your life unexpectedly ended. If you haven't, expect learning to get around on one leg for a while.

I have asked her that same thing many times. Never got a clear answer, though. Sometimes it was the art style, and I would remind her that depending on who drew him, his appearance tended to change. Then t turned to his character. So I would remind her about his psychotic tendencies. She finally just that she liked him for reasons unknown. However, I like him because he is REALLY hard to break.
π: 0 β©: 1
oODark-DawnOo In reply to SilasShrike [2015-12-30 10:48:56 +0000 UTC]
Really hard to break? Wasn't the point of his character that he's broken from the fact that Bruce failed to save him from Joker and realised that tons of others must have suffered as much as he did because Batman is a no-killing pansy, so decided to take matters into his own hands by controlling crime instead of actually fighting it?
I think what makes him interesting is the fact that he was the first one to break and decided to use brutal methods to pick up the pieces.
Speaking of Joker, despite him being the sickest and the most twisted villains ever... I don't think he's the most EVIL villain ever. That would be Red Skull.
π: 0 β©: 1
SilasShrike In reply to oODark-DawnOo [2015-12-31 19:35:22 +0000 UTC]
I have hardly read any Marvel comics, so I am forced to admit to the fact that I know almost nothing about Red Skull aside from watching the movie Captain America.
But I have to say, Jason Todd forgave Batman for failing to save him. (Batman under the Red Hood, the movie. SO HEARTRENDINGLY AWFUL!!) What he did not forgive him for, was letting the Joker get away with it. That's what pushed him over the edge, the fact that whatever they did, no matter how bad it was, they would never be punished so severely that they would never do it again. So it kind of made sense why Jason decided to take control of crime.
