So Gamefreak must have known that it was my birthday today because they leaked a bunch of new Pokemon, mostly evolutions of older Pokemon, one of which is an evolution of Absol which is MY FAVORITE POKEMON! Apparently this is a new kind of evolution called Mega Evolution, and Gamefreak has leaked 5 other mega evolutions besides Absol here (including the new Mewtwo Form, which is now an evolution).I think Mega Absol looks fabulous. Look at his wings! They're so majestic!

I like this, though from its appearance you'd think it would become a dark/flying type, its still pure dark.

Everybody jokes how Pokemon is ripping off Digimon now.
Me, I love Absol's mega form on first sight (quite the feat considering I firmly believe(d) Absol shouldn't get an evolution at all).
I don't care much for Mega Lucario, but that's mostly the look of his Sugimori art - his in-game model looks better.
Mega Blaziken ... meh, never liked that chicken anyway, but it's apparently a limited-time event so I'll definitely be picking it up.

Kinda sorta. This is a new type of evolution called "Mega Evolution," and as of right now the details of obtaining these Mega Pokemon are pretty sketchy. All that's been leaked is that it's supposedly very different than the standard evolutionary processes and that six Pokemon have been confirmed to have a Mega Evolution: Absol, Lucario, Blaziken, Ampharos, Mawile and Mewtwo.
If you haven't noticed, two of those Pokemon were previously 3rd stage evolutions, and one of them was a legendary. In fact, this makes Mewtwo the first legendary Pokemon to ever evolve, even if it isn't through classic evolution process. Half of them were also from Generation 3 (RSE remake confirmed?).
