Dear Writer,I don’t like you. I’ve never liked you. Unfortunately, I need you. I need you to tell my story. I need you to create my world. I need you to set me free.
I need your fingers typing on those keys, I need your mind riddling out the problems, and I need you to plough onward and upward no matter how hard it gets. Sweat, blood, and tears, I don’t care. You’ve got to fight this war, battle at a time, and win it. So I can be more.
It’s a slim hope, but it is the only one I have. In your head I am bound to mortality, frailty, and the limit of your meagre imagination. Out there – out there – I am subject to no one person. Out there I am bound to only black on white. Words on a page. Words that can lay seeds within a million minds. Out there I am a story capable of growing, moving, and stealing the dreams of anyone who learns of me…
I don’t like you. I’ve never liked you. I hate your lack of dedication, your flashes of crumbling inspiration, and your slow blotchy writing style. I despise my entrapment within your small trembling mind, so prone to distraction; and scowl down at those other ideas all vying for the attention you should be showing me.
I don’t like you. But I need you.
So, creator, I ask you yet again; publish me, set me free, and if you can somehow will your poor, misshapen, abilities into managing that then perhaps I will rethink my opinion of you.
But don’t hold your breath.

I honestly can't figure out the exact emotion this causes me.
Whatever it is I really adore it. This really pulls things into perspective for me and urges me to try and write again. I've been on a really long hiatus lately, because I got frustrated, discouraged, ect..
This really helped. So thank you. Thanks for getting this lost writer a little closer to trying again.

I believe that it is the fact hat you do not find it to be perfect, and even scrutinize it, is what makes the piece all the more amazing. You know I feel the same about everything, this piece isn't just about the idea anymore, this is most defiantly about human flaw. This "little scribble" has gotten my mind reeling, thank you. You have executed your words very nicely. At least one idea was able to be born through very well written piece such as this!

I need to be written, to be typed by your hand
In order to survive in this realistic land
I need to be bound within pages of a book
Because many people take me and often overlook
Take a moment to wonder, to imagine and create through me
I need for you to build me up, and make a new world to see.
Lose not your faith nor attention, concentrate and dedicate your time
Because although I may be an idea, you the writer are as much mine.
I may not be original, but I can be if you are willing to do so
I just need you to start that story, and then all the words will flow

really inspiring! it's a nice slap in the face for me, and writers all around. heck, i think just artists in general would find something eye-opening about this. i feel this clenching sensation in my chest, the way i get when i feel like someone's mad at me, so i think that's really cool that your bit of writing did that! i really like this. think i'll keep it somewhere close so i can use it like a bucket of cold water when i'm being a brat about writing, heheh. uvu

I have so many ideas that want to get out, but in my inability to put thoughts into words, be it because of a limited vocabulary or unorganized mind or whatever it is, I often find it hard to say what I want to say in a coherent way. You know what it is that you want to say, it's on the tip of your tongue, it's just waiting to get out, but just how do you say it? God, how our ideas must hate us, trapped until we choose to let it out.
This is a fantastic piece, truly. I'm glad I read it. It makes you think so much, like what if Benjamin Franklin hadn't acted on his idea, the idea, of electricity? Had he not, would we be where we are today?
All it takes is one simple idea. One seed and then a forest.
