I was an art history minor and I love Caravaggio. I really love painting light. Dramatic lighting is utilized to amplify what would seem like banal tales and allows the work to connect with its rich history of imagery of the same subject matter. This light becomes an otherworldly existence within the narratives. By combining light with the modern day context, I am commenting on the existence of the Divine and the real possibility of extraordinary events occurring in an ordinary world.

I can definitely see that. I think it's interesting you're connecting the modern world to the richness of traditional culture through a very simple but striking element.
Kind of makes me rethink what I think is so appealing about my own work/what kind of work appeals to me.
