Very well done work. I like the light and dark with the color.

It's beautiful. Every single detail of the two women--their postures, facial expressions, clothes, directions of gaze--brings them to life. Did you go into this work with some kind of story or dynamic that you wanted to convey?

Being a fan of all things Austen, I simply enjoy period dress and the little stories that make life intriguing and peppered with delightful moments. Β Everyone enjoys getting a letter much less an invite. Β Who's the letter from? Β I'll leave that to your imagination. Β

Just a simple BFA in Painting at a lowly midwest college, but the school emphasized painting from the figure.Β After graduation I began painting for a gallery and got a lot of real world experience working full time at painting.Β Β Thanks for the comments!

Amazing, it really looks realistic. I love the fabric of the dresses and their decorations, they're just great...

Your paintings are really amazing. I love how you paint the light and shadows. Do you use live models or reference images. What is your painting process like?

Thanks.
I take numerous photos from the model and then pour over them, select the best bits from each photo, put them together and then use that stitched image as my source material. Regarding the painting process, I've included a methodology in my galleries.

I love the way you rendered the hands and dresses. Lovely. Is this based of a Biblical reference like your prior works or is this inspired by something else?
