Description
Working on designing a character for an upcomming game my friends and I are going to play together. I've never played Dungeons & Dragons before, I hope I enjoy it! I'm going to play an elf druid with an eye towards the Shifter prestige class.Not all that pleased with this picture. The pose is boring and there are several things I would have changed. I plan on coloring this when I'm able to, but until I get my tablet fixed, this is the best I can do.

I myself can't play DandD anymore... it's either too complicated, or I can't keep at it. My bad luck to never get into a good group that hangs together, or be too lazy to be a good DM for very long.
Anyway, I also hold to some of the old school... nothing wrong with a Druid having sword and shield, but I just don't see them that way... just my own POV, and who cares about that...
I like the character concept drawing. You've done her very well. Costume rocks, she just looks real you know? Like you could see her running around a movie lot somewhere.
The only complaint I'd have is her shield. I know that style of shield is supposed to be worn that way and all... but I question if a sharp edge like you've depicted would be practical. The weight of the shield would tend to bring the arm straight down in combat, and if one isn't careful, one would cut their own side with it.
Oh well, that's my brain ticking through fantasy. Ignore me, most people do. *chuckles*

I'm just going by the 3.5 rules, and scimitar and wooden shields are permited by the rules. Besides, I've always been a sharp-objects girl over something using brute strength to beat on people ;3 And what sharp edge are you talking about? That's supposed to be a bowl-ish shaped hunk of wood that's been fashioned into a shield. The slices on it are from other swords and claws that have cut gouges in it. There isn't any blade or anything on it O.o

Well, I realize the fascination for the sharp objects thing going on. Like I said, there's nothing wrong with the idea. (I always saw the druids as trying to save life instead of cut it up, but the real druids were greatly known for sacrifices...)
As far as the shield, my bad entirely! Maybe if I'd seen it colored first I wouldn't have made such a blunder, but if it were a metal shield with the sharp edges...
But wood now... that's a different story. Thanks for setting me straight!

Nah, those were just supposed to be gouges from previous battles... at least the major ones anyways. I'll put in more beatings in the coloring stage ;3 I can also see many more than one face in that shield, hehe
